Is there a way to create instrument groups like in pro-tools? so that you can edit things at the same time? Other than selecting them (still some kinds of editing are not followed). Thanks!

If I understand you correctly, this can only be done with audio tracks in a limited capacity.

Select 3 or more tracks and highlight them (on the left next to the inspector) right click and choose "Group selected tracks". Now, if you make an edit to one, they should all follow.

There is also a neat video out there showing how you can have customized mixer channel display groups that I have found helpful in the absence of more elaborate track grouping features. My hunch is that sometime we'll see a release that addresses those types of needs.

Thanks for replying themuzic! I found what you wrote about, but I still don't find it very usefull, the only difference between actually selecting something is that everytime you click in any of the other previously grouped regions they all highlight at once. There is also a part for group in the inspector below tempo and material where you can take off from a group something or you can put anything in other groups I guess, but I don't find it really usefull.

Talmen: Can you post a link about that video?

Has anyone put something about this in feature requests already?

What exactly do you want to do?

With the group command you can group several tracks (instrument and/or audio tracks) and then edit the events of these tracks simultaneously. You can cut them at the same position, move them around, select a part with the range tool and so on. In the console the faders of all involved channels are moved when you move one of them. Solo and mute works the same.

Thanks guys, that was the video I was thinking of.

Nice job, Johnny -- that one really helped me. Kudos to you and others who have made some great help videos!

I'm thinking of taking the plunge and making a couple videos on issues that I had a hard time figuring out. The gang here has been so helpful, I wan't to do something to give back to the community!

Sounds great. I look forward to them. I'm in the midst of a video right now for mastering and file volumes but I got called out of town for work. Hopefully get it done tomorrow.

Do it. There can never be enough help. All DAWs have so many features that it takes years to get fluent with all of them. I used Cubase for 8 years, and it probably took 5 years to get really good at it.

Seriously, tips from users in this community make it a pleasure to use the software. I learn something new every time I am here.
