MP3 not available as Digital Release option...

Am I missing something? (highly likely)

When I'm working with a project in Studio One Pro, and select Digital Release, the option to save as an MP3 is not present.

These options are listed:

Wave File
AIFF File
FLAC File
Ogg Vorbis File

Anyone else have this issue?

Thanks,
Manford

mp3 is showing up in my list... Sorry to say that I don't really have a clue what this could be. Maybe a codec thing or something.

Please provide some more information about your setup so that someone else can chime in to help! Things like operating system, Studio One version and so on.
BTW it's always a good idea to put these facts in your signature.

Thank you for the reply. Honestly I was surprised to be able to post today, I was never able to in the old forum, so I never bothered to setup a sig.

I recently upgraded to Pro, and until today I've never tried to save a song out of the Project section, so unfortunately I have no record of what was available before the upgrade to Pro (and the latest software patch).

Very odd, I've not been able to find any other posts describing this issue. But that is not to say that one exists, I probably just have not dug deep enough.

Thanks,
Manford

I've noticed another quirk today... I'm not able to import/drag n' drop an MP3 file into a song file, which is supposed to convert to WAV format and create a new track. The "browse" window recognizes the files as MP3, but when I attempt to drag them, I get a red stop sign icon in the track area.

Bizarre. Anyone else see this behavior?

Thanks,
Manford

Works ok here. Something must be up with your install.

Yeah, that is what I'm afraid of too.

I've been sitting here this morning, tempted to uninstall/reinstall. Last time I did this, my license key was locked out for a couple of weeks and it was a pretty big hassle to get a new key from Presonus (ultimately they DID come thru, though, which is nice)

I've seen a couple more posts with the same issue, but the solution had to do with the original file being located on an external HDD that had been disconnected, which is not the case here.

I'll be out of pocket for the next week, so if anyone can add to this thread, please do! I'll check back in when I return to the house.

Thanks so much - Manford

Ok, problem solved with uninstall / reinstall.

I removed the existing installation, deleted all the remnants, rebooted and installed from DVD. My license was picked up automatically and the software recognized itself as PRO, version 1.5.0.

I checked and MP3 options were available, no problems now!

Upgraded with latest patch for 1.5.2, and still no issues. Thanks for the help!

Thanks for taking the time to post the solution. That will very likely make it much easier for other users to solve a similar issue in future.
