Can someone please explain to me the difference between an Instrument and a SoundFont. Why do some Presence items show up under the Instruments tab and other under Sounds? It's all very confusing. None of the extra items that came with S1 ala ezdrummer, guitar rig, etc seem to be showing up anywhere as available though I see the folders in Programs files so I know they're installed.

Somebody please enlighten me as to how this is all organized as the manual does not...

I'll have a go at it...

There appears to be some degree of crossover in the Instruments and Sounds tabs but I think that is for added convenience / choice e.t.c

To simplify things It is probably best to view the Instruments tab as predominantly / primarily being used for browsing for VSTi plugins. The Sounds tab is for various PreSonus specific content and presets for Studio One Instruments like Impact, Sample One and Presence AFAICT.

Were you able to get EZdrummer working inside Studio One?

I just purchased the full version of EZdrummer and have it installed. I can confirm the installation because I am able to use the Toontrack Solo application and hear the sounds.

However, I can't figure out how to get Studio One to recognize EZdrummer.

Thanks

Damnit. According to an older forum posting, I can't use the full EZdrummer plugin with Studio One Artist. I have to upgrade to Studio One Pro. Talk about a major bummer.

Oh, well. I was planning on upgrading to Pro, soon, but I didn't want to miss out on the $49 deal for EZdrummer at Guitar Center, this month.

Looks like I won't be able to use my new drum sounds for another month or two. I'm still paying off my SL 1642.

I'm using EZ drummer and several of the expansion packs in S1 Pro. They work just great there. Sorry about the limitation in Artist. (I really think they ought to change that.) I also bought EZPlayer pro to help me with arranging, and, at first, I was frustrated at first with trying to get it to work right. Got it going now, though. (Thinking about making a help video for people on the subject.) The deal they have going on the expansion packs is great, too. Most of the expansion packs seems to have a lot more stock MIDI patterns that in the main EZ drummer package, too.

Well problem with them not working turned out to be simple. I was running 64 bit. Somewhere I missed that none of this was compatible.

What expansion packs are you using?

Vintage Rock, Latin Percussion, Nashville, and Jazz. Also bought a couple of midi only packs from them -- all great stuff!
