Do the Audiobox interfaces work directly with iPAD (via Camera Connector / USB Hub)?

Hi, I love my StudioLive and VSL / IPad, but i am looking for small iPad based rig for when I play open mics, small coffee shops etc. I have discovered I can plug a Lexicon Omega directly into an iPad via the camera equivalent, and I was wondering if the AudioBox series has that capability - I am very much an iPad noob so still experimenting. While I'm at it, can anyone tell me if iTunes etc, will redirect to an external device like the Omega, or Alesis Dock? I prefer a separate device over a dock as I want the iPad on a mic stand.

Cheers

Grif

As far as I know, they do not function directly with the iPad.

And for further clarity's sake Grif, I tried it, it doesn't.

At least on iPad 2

Appreciate the effort - not a bad idea for the future though. As well as a control surface, I am using ForScore for lyric sheets, backing tracks, etc. I am trying to convince them to also send MIDI program change info when I pick a song so it sets the presets on my Looper, POD XT Voicelive, drum machine etc so I don't have to. Would have liked to stay with the Presonus gear but at least the Omega has a good rep.

Cheers

Grif

btw I will be taking the StudioLive to Salt Lake City in August for a 3 day Secondlife jam, about 40 musicians and about the same in audience all playing all day.

Design hint - make it a box plat takes a cable - not a dock - you cant mount the docks on a mic stand.

I thought the audioboxes worked with the ipad as long as you provided the power. Maybe I missed something. I thought all usb class compliant interfaces worked.

I only tried it with an 1818 and I could not get any function at all. I am new to the iPad so I may have done it wrong.

Have tested the 1818VSL with a powered USB hub and an iPad 2. I can confirm that analog inputs 1 through 16 work. I did not test the SPDIF inputs.

Good to know - were you able to test the midi?

Sorry, I didn't test the 1818's midi. I also forgot to mention that I used a camera connection kit USB connector.
