Found a topic about it in these forums about S1 not having a chorder or an arp Found out a way of doing chords though using Tonespace for chords only and routing that into the instrument track.

Get a copy of 7Aliens W2 Harmonizer. It does the job. Otherwise you can pay more for options like the new Toontrack Ez Keys or Sugar Bytes Consequence.

As for an arp try this, http://www.artovaarala.com/

Or 7Aliens Catanya, it builds arps out of the chords you feed into it.

If you're prepared to google and test stuff, there seem to be a bunch of free vsts for creating chords. Don't know which ones are any good.

Cruciform thanks for the links. I really like how that artovaarala arp looks in videos but I couldnt get to work in studio one for the life of me and the manual is real thin. Can you by any chance explain how to set it up? Like for example I just drop a mojito bass in there and want to feed the notes from that to the arp.

Hi atezel,

I don't personally use Kirnu as I like Catanya too much but here's how to get it going (assuming you're not using Artist).....

A midi chord or pattern generator becomes the input for the track you want the chords or patterns recorded onto. Its output can then be recorded just like you were keying the notes in to an instrument track. You also need to ensure the mojito track is armed or no sound will be heard. Then setup the arp to generate a pattern. For that, you'll need to use their online manual.

Press record to track the pattern. You will then have a midi clip.

dudes, this is already possible.

1. google "chords piz"
2. download midiChords by pizmidi plugins
3. load midiChords as a VSTi
4. load your synth VSTi
5. set input of your synth to 'midiChords' via its sequencer track
6. set output of 'midiChords' to your synth via its sequencer track
7. record enable both tracks.

now midiChords should output its midi to your synth ....

yes not exaclty midi plugin support but it's simple enough to get by with.

Here is other "fresh" thread about arp/chorder vst with info about Catanya and other arps/chorders e.g. Kirnu or Mucoder tools.
BTW:
You can also try combine an arp VST and a chorder VST in S1. It could gives some interesting results, however I haven't try this solution yet. For example:
1. You set output Midi channel for your arp VST e.g. Catanya or Kirnu.
2. On chorder track select your arp as input and set appropriated Midi I/O.
3. On your VSTi set chorder as Input.
