I have AudioBox USB with Studio One 2, pretty new to recording, and I was wondering if anyone has any advice on how I can find/ make metal drum loops. I want to record metal songs with my guitar but all the drum loops are kind of pop/dance drum loops. I want some double bass and crash symbols. So can anyone tell me where to find good metal loops or what can I use to make 'em?

Thanks!

How would I combine this program with my Studio One 2 so I can combine the drum loops with my songs?

That's quite simple. EZ Drummer installs as an VSTi Intrument. Drag&Dop it from the S1 browser in the arrange window, and it installs itself with an new midi track. Now drag your own midi drum loop on the EZdrummer track. Done!

I've got an old Gene Kruppa COB, something about brass rather than steel. It's nothing like as sensitive as a Dynasonic and takes a bit of fiddling to get right. Ali shells are nice too, a little dryer though.

I have a friend with a Dynasonic, he had the same problems with choking. He got around it by using basket extensions used for mounting small toms or piccalo snares and turned them round to make the basket larger. The down side was basket height so out came the angle grinder and he knocked of 3 inches of the lower stand section. I will take a picture of it when I see him next.. It works well now.

Yes my GK Slingy is a 5" It was a little out of shape when I got it but a few hours with a soft rubber panel beaters hammer sorted it. When it's set right it's something else, but it is a fiddle to get right. I followed some advice from Bob Gatzen and cut down my wires to 12 with a gap in the centre to eliminate bass buzz. I records really well

Never heard of cutting down the wires like that

Any good link to share about it?

Video by Bob Gatzen. What he doesn't know about drum recording isn't worth knowing. He is endorsed by DW, designed the BOA bass drum pedal and works along side Evans in new product development. Top guy in the field, He has loads of drum set up tips covering everything you could imagine.
