I just got an email reply from Rick:

Hi Wally,

The regular price of the Pro1 to Pro2 upgrade will be $149 starting on December 1.

However, as an initial deal, we are lowering it to $99 for Pro1 users.

Kind Regards,

This thread was for the v1 versions only. I think that the idea was to have v1 at half price until the release of v2 on the 1st of November.

But due to the leaks and the fact that GC started selling v2 way before they were supposed to lead to the descision to release v2 ahead of schedule.

That's what causing the confusion I think.

I don't know what the attitude of GC is nation wide, but in Lakeland, FL, when I inquire about S!Pro they look at me like I am from another planet, and they try to switch me to other DAWs.

Hi LAGinz ,

Thanks for your answer. It's nice to hear that other companys offer the same deal, however, the companys you've named only accept paypal, wich I don't have. More important is that I think Presonus, (or Jonathan?), should keep it's word. As I said before, it's doesn't look reliable (or professional). Thanks again, but I hope to hear from Presonus too.

Hey Jobster, understand your point. BTW I've purchased stuff in the past from both audioMIDI and floridamusicco with just a credit card--without using paypal.

Hello,

I'm French and i was interested in this upgrade from studio one artist to Pro.

As announced by jonathan from Presonus in this thread, I thought I could do the upgrade until the end of the month for the price of 99 $.

I think it would be not very serious if it does not.

Hope that will be clarified following the official announcement of Presonus.

waiting for a response.

There's little doubt that the thread was intended to only apply to V1 based upon how things have been handled. There is also little doubt that version number was not specified in Jonathan's initial message, nor was it officially clarified by anyone once it became clear that V2 was going to release in October. It is also pretty obvious that Presonus is not currently selling the V1 upgrades to people who want to buy them.

Presonus needs to accept the feedback that they made an error in handling this situation. They should also act reasonably and within their power to make it right, even if that means offering upgrades in November for people who have tried to order them this month without success because of the logistics hurdle that was created when Presonus ceased direct fulfillment.

It's no longer an issue for me, but others appear to still have problems.

The easiest way for Presonus to handle this would have been to offer the straight out purchase of V2 for a price equivalent to the half price deal of V1 plus the upgrade price for the two week period between the release and the end of the sale period of V1. It could have been just a quick 2 week sale.

Personally I had every intention of buying V1 before V2 came out but I was eligible for a cross grade from another platform so I followed the instructions and emailed the UPC code but to this day I have not received an email back from them. I also mistakenly thought I had until the end of the month, so obviously I missed the opportunity to buy V1 at half price. I ended up just buying V2 at full price.

I'm not enthused about the missed opportunity and the reason behind it as it cost me an extra $100 but I'm happy with the product. It's only double what I would have paid for the next Logic upgrade or Cubase upgrade and I like it much better than either. If they stick with this upgrade pricing model then I will break even with the next upgrade (comparatively if I had stuck with Logic or gone back to Cubase).

I don't expect them to do anything for me, I realize the logistical nightmare a new release brings and it's the same as anything, you're never going to make everyone happy.

D'Oh!!!

In my haste I didn't think about getting an actual disc copy when I ordered S1v2 online!
Is there any way for me to still pay for a disc copy of my order somehow?

See... That's what happens when you get over excited on your laptop that you have with you everywhere and forget about the dedicated studio desktop computer that has no internet access!

I should have know about this earlier

I got my v1artist--v2artist for $100 @ audiomidi, but @ ScitScat I got the v2artist--v2pro for $85 and I'd probably get the same deal if I were doing the former upgrade...

Could have saved me $30, but $15 ain't bad either

So .... I got the upgrade and it took almost all afternoon and evening to install everything and tweak it all.

I got it while I am in the middle of mastering and editing some of the songs i recorded. Right now I am doing a cover anthology of stuff I do on gigs. I have to say that the mastering section is a whole lot better than it was originally and I have now scrapped out Peak Bias Pro. I no longer need it ... S1 Pro V2 has everything needed to do a jam up pro project.
The "song" section is way better than before, and I am chomping at the bit to star a song and see what I can come up with using some of the new plug ins.

This version is well worth every penny they are charging for it.

I am happy with it, and it could only be better if when you downloaded it a live 18 year old bikini model came with it.

Nah, skip the bikini - It only adds to the total cost

Hey Studio One works fine on Mac's as well. I have 2 Mac's Pro and Mini Mac, and I upgraded the ram, and man Studio One is off the fly. Now I am going to upgrade to the Studio One 2 version. I hope this will answer your question. But also a bit advice, If you have any other 3rd party virus programs, disable them when installing Studio One.

I ask this, because Cubase 6 is known to run better on PC than Mac.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Cheers,
Muziksculp

I'm not seeing any specific performance differences, for me it's similar on both platforms.

Hi! first of all I want to say how excited I am with ver2! my question is the following: I have artist ver. free fro
my fs mobile interface. I purchased the upgrade to pro. i can only activate it 5 times only? I format my iMac at least every four-five months and I clean install my apps(ex windows user....) so I have only 4 left. now I will upgrade to ver 2. so Artist to pro to ver 2. that means even I will have 5 activations for ver 2 I am actually limited to four due to my artist to pro ver 1 activations?
