What would happen if I had an Audiobox 1818 VSL AND a Studiolive mixer plugged into my computer at the same time? I'd like to use the Audiobox's SPDIF to my monitors (digital monitors with DSP EQ and converters) but I'd also like to be able to switch to the Studiolive mixer sometimes. If I just leave both plugged in will they be compatible? Can I just select the different interface in S1 and/or capture and use that at will?

You should be able to. The drivers are different enough.

I was able to have them both coexist on my systems as long as I wasn't trying to use them both at the same time.

Ok. That's about what I figured. I wonder if the same holds true for FireWire interfaces? Two FireWire interfaces plugged into two separate FireWire ports?

Not necessarily two ports but I've had great success with different interfaces on different cards using the same method.

On many occasions I've run my FW410 and StudioLives simultaneously with no ill effects whatsoever.

I wouldn't recommend it with two Presonus products. The drivers will be pretty similar and could cause OS confusion.

You shouldn't have any problems doing this. We've done it here with no problem. Just make sure your computer is using the appropriate audio device when you want to use it and all should work well. The drivers for each are completely independent.
