It seems to be just F11 on Mac, at least on my Mac...

What do you guys mean about automation points? If you're talking about the points that you can move with a mouse, they are already there.

When you fade a clip in our out it puts an "Exponential point" in the middle of the line so you can control how much curve there is in the fade. I haven't been able to find a point like that for automation. If you know of one please let me know! I can only do so much with the parabola line

That's not possible at the moment, but you an use the parabola tool to draw these kinds of curves

So frustrating that's the only feature I am really disappointed to see that Studio One doesn't have. Every decent daw should have that feature. Parabola is so limited curve up or down yay... or spend a half hour using the transformation tool to get the curve right. Not good work flow....

Could you explain why you need the automation curve to be so precise? I would just like to know because I use automation extensively but I've never felt the automation to be imprecise with the current tools.

Just wondering for what applications you use automation because I see this feature being requested a lot lately.

I don't think it works here properly either.

EDIT: It really depends on the project. I just opened another project and shift F11 worked. But the previous one did not. I don't have any idea why.

I automate everything, finding the right balance of how much sound should come in from any sound at any given moment is essential for a clean mix, so being able to control the extent of your curve is a necessity for me. Especially when working with sweeps and filters.

I also find working with percentages can give great effects for example having a curve at 60% up and 40% down, it gives you that little difference of a sweep keeping up with the mix and not being overly loud.

Downloaded the update today. Worked all day like a breeze! I enjoyed the click feature that turns the click to audio! My projects also saved much faster than before.

Anyhow, I still wish for Track Templates.

Thanks,
Mark

I have to agree with the Grammy Award-winning mixer engineer.
The better the arrangement (and source material), the less automation is needed.

The more "cluttered" the arr is........well.

Ever tried automation with a fader 'til it feels good/right? It is not necesarry "that precise".
It has to flow with the music (please look away from the screen while listening).

This seems to be the standard answer for a DAW not having a feature that your previous DAW had .
Not saying it wouldn't be nice to have this... just saying i think we over exagerate this a little. S1's not a decent DAW b/c it doesn't have this?

Get a Faderport.... ride the fader... problem solved. It sounds like it would improve your workflow dramatically.

Riding the fader is way better than drawing it with a mouse anyway

Question...

If you have an RME interface, can you currently select any loops (or one shots with time-information attached to them) in your S1 browser? And can you successfully do any Audio-bending or detecting transients without playback halting?

I spoke with another gentlemen expericing my issues with waveforms that seem to have "time" stamped to it so S1 can manipulate.... and he's having the same issue. He can't audio bend. I noticed we both have RME interfaces and are currently on Win 7 x64.

Anybody else with an RME interface on Win 7 x64 that is having problems?

You guys proberly locked your sample rate in the RME settings. I don't have this issue, but would love to trade yours with my PRO EQ dropouts and clicks...
