I'm just learning this whole quantize thing/tempo tracking thing for the first time in Studio One Version 1 (just been working in that for 3 wks or so).

But as of today, I'm working in Version 2 of Studio 1.

The closest I've done to this kind of thing was in Version 1.5 and doing Tempo Tracks where I would go measure by measure readjusting the tempo using the S1 algorhythm.

My understanding is with V2, there's an easier way to do this? Using the Quantize feature?

Can someone guide me through that? (I watched the Presonus youtube video on transients but still confused).

i.e. How do I take a freely played guitar track (no metronome) and get the track to match to the grid? And then lay in a drum track and get it to match to that tempo as well?

Thanks

Do you have a sample track? If you could send me a link, I might be able to help or do a quick video.

That would be awesome... it's your great videos that I've been learning Studio One V1 on.

Do you prefer me to upload a Studio One file or simply the audio files (format preference?)

Also, since it's a guitar + vocal, would you like both tracks... i.e. the guitar and the vocal?

Thanks!

Yes, both track but I don't need the S1 file. You can send me a PM with a link to Dropbox, Yousend it, or http://streaky.com/ with the two files. Wave files would be fine or 256 or 320kB/s MP3s would work too if you want to keep the file size down.

I am curious to knw about this too! I have tried quantising guitar and the results have been horrible haha! I must be doing something wrong , so a video would be great Bedstrom! On anouther note, is there a way to get the transient markers to show up to just match the grid? Thanks!

I 'm hoping this thread does not die...

The issue of not getting the timing as smooth as I would like to hinges on this. I would love to be shown the light...finally

I've importting various pro tracks into S1 trying to get them to line up with a the click. Ther thing is that in many songs , while they have a tight feel they actually do not have a constant tempo. Many speed up or slow down.

So how does a producer deal with that?

I know this is a seperate issue and I am interested how to line up in S1-2, but dealing with changing tempo is related and a cause of ongoing confusion for me

How are you doing or have you tried tempo mapping the song first?
