I searched and did not find an answer.

Is there a way to use the mouse scroll wheel to zoom? It's making me crazy. It works by default in every other audio programme.

Cheers!

You can mouse over the top timeline and use your scroll wheel to zoom horizontally.

Hi Greg!

You can use the wheel together with [Ctrl] and [Ctrl]+[Shift] (PC modifiers). That's actually what I'm used to in various programs.

Hope that helps.

Yea I don't think any of these key/mouse combinations are documented. Only buried within the forums .

To clarify though the mousewheel zoom behavior varies depending on which window you're mouse cursor is in.

In the song/project window horizontal zoom: Ctrl+Shift+Mousewheel
In the Editor window horizontal zoom: Ctrl+Mousewheel
OR
Ctrl+Shift+Mousewheel

In addition to those here are some other mousewheel actions I use.

Shift+Mousewheel scrolls horizontally.

Ctrl+Mousewheel: zooms and expands all track sizes vertically.

Enjoy!

belated thanks for this info. Just what was looking for. I'd just like to clarify Jordansvoice here, now I get the method of working - sounds like it's been changed slightly in the update to v2. These work the same way in both song/ project & editor windows;

vertical scroll = mouse wheel
horizontal scroll = shift + mw

vertical zoom = ctrl + mw
horizontal zoom = shift + ctrl + mw

Very nice and handy!

There's more, but I wouldn't want to bore you....

Oddly i came across this thread because my mouse doesn't actually sroll vertically when I use the whell, it does nothing which is really annoying.

but looking here you guys have confirmed that it should at least do that and also given me some excellent tips on zooming...... I'll check tonight when I'm home thanks.
Was using Cubase 5.5 now I'm on Studio One v2 i find it hard to revert back!

It is annoying how they implemented this... if i have my mouse wheel on a middle track - like the start of a vocal - and i want to zoom into punch - it should zoom me in to where my cursor IS - not just zoom the whole song

sure you zoom - but then you have to scroll to where you want - instead of it just bringing you where your mouse was to begin with - zoomed in

mixcraft does this - its amazing how much i miss it for this ONE reason
