Can we please have the option added to use the old look? I used to impress people with how awesome S1 looked. Not it looks like an old recolored Cubase 4! It's terrible looking. The buttons look flat. Everything looks thing and high contrast.... Argggggg....
Thanks

Well... maybe just voting would be more productive if the idea is to see what percentage prefers which GUI. It seems to be leaning pretty heavily in favor of the new one....

Add your vote. There's about three different threads of ... discussing ... it all with the idea (I suppose) of finding out how people feel about it all. So far at least the new GUI seems to be preferred by most.

Heavily.... is 10-1

It's far from that.

By... most?..... that's just not true.

You should be less biased in your posts Lmike.

heavily... is relative. 29/63 is pretty heavy, if you saw it on a scale youd know

by most? definitely, try looking up the word in a dictionary and learn that it applies

you should stop telling people how to post

2 to 1 is pretty heavy in my book. 63% is a pretty high majority in a three option poll.

Not sure why that is biased, but it IS preferred by most who have voted. There is no way to tell how accurate that is, but 63% IS "most". And I didn't even vote yet, lol.

One third of people preferring the original version.

That's really quite a ...number. No matter how it's sliced.....Business-wise.

I don't mean to be a stick-in-the mud but.. there is a way to please a much higher percentage.

Why it's being.. suppressed, I have no idea. But the majority of the opposition 'seems' to come from those more heavily embedded....here.

1/3... is a lot under any business model.

"you should stop telling people how to post "

You ..just.... told me how to post.

"The new GUI look makes me want to claw my eyes out"

That's pretty strong...

I'm...Positive... this is only one of the ..tens.. of thousands??.. who feel this way?

Perhaps, instead of all the diehards defending the brilliance of the 'new UI" They should take a closer look, at what some.. (as i see it) some good community members have posted, in these several threads, and how passionate their words are... then take into account, that for every one who posts, a 100, 1000 others feel the same way.

No, it is not possible to create a UI that EVERYONE loves.. but... it IS possible to take the concerns of very many individuals, and do something with it.. instead of the " we win, you lose" rhetoric.

As I see it, many people are quite pleased with the 'overall' look, and most could 'deal with how it is.

I am quite pleased with it too...95% actually, I freaking LOVE... MOST of the UI, and the plugin design is exceptional but... the folks (customers) that are displeased seem to concur on what they find displeasing, being the step backwards from a balanced UI to a mix of flat Vs. 3d UI.

I truly am not trying to cause trouble, only to affect change. I LOVE this DAW... and it's been spoiled in more than just MY opinion.

I could be WAY off base on this... I sincerely hope I am not.

I LOVE the new GUI look! I like the higher contrast and some of the new coloring on things. I think all the different areas of the screen now look more clearly defined. I also like the new vibrancy of the track/event/clip colors.

Perhaps on some future update, Presonus could put a skin/gui look option, like Ableton has always done. Ableton allows you to select the GUI of whatever version you prefer, so you can have Live 6 with Live 2's GUI.

But again, personally, I love the new GUI and don't care if they ever implement this.
The endless quest for having the latest equipment and software is much more likely to result in wasted time and effort than it is to result in "better" productions.

... Are you sure you're not thinking of Reaper here? I don't remember seeing the 'revert to the look of Live 2' version in Live 8 (although it's possible some of the color schemes might have been defaults in previous versions?)

I wouldn't mind some customizable GUI coloring options but certainly not to the extent of Reaper, where I know I'd be fiddling around for a month before even starting to make any music.

I think the new one look is less cluttered and is intended to improve the glance back.
whn youve got a load of stuff on your screens the new one is very welcome, nice to have the drop shadows and reliefe of the original buttons etc.. but i can see their reasoning for it, and ive got to say its hardly a deal breaker for me.
The competiton DAW guis are shite, Ableton is a mess, Cubase is a fair ground, logic is just logic, and protools is probably one of the better ones out there.
For me the presonus guys cant really do any wrong at the moment.
Think your gonna be on a loser with this, but an old look checkbox is more fluff than necessity imo, it wont stop people like me cutting singles and albums.
Im more arsed whether the app crashes on a big mix..

Claw your eyes out? Well, can't please everyone. I took 11 phone calls today helping folks get V2 setup and\or going through some features. Most folks seem ok with it.

All I tell people is do the demo, try it and if you don't like it, move onto something else that pleases your eyes. And if you bought it and then found you don't like the GUI, shame on you for not getting the demo first.

I'm staying away from the forums for a week or so, If anyone wants my help, email me at homestudiotrainer@yahoo.com

Thanx.
