There is just now way that everyone is going to love 100% of everything. Just for example, the old pic at the top of the forums for some reason was a lightening rod of controversy. But now there is another thread requesting it be put back because people wanted a copy of it. Huh?

What we can hope for is a more modern platform, that can be configured and tweaked over time, better mobile access, presented in a well organized way.

Lets keep our fingers crossed.

My $0.02:

You guys can do whatever you like in the new forum as far as continuing threads, but things will shake themselves out anew. The most popular threads in the new forums will stay on top just like in the old (these) forums.

The community will drive what threads rise to the top - that's up to all of us...

Yeah, other forums have an Off Topic section. That would be the right home for threads like those I guess...

I, for one, need to have a place of peers who generally are trying to help each other and then relax with some offsteam blabber in threads like "Delete Me" or similar to be able to go on the NeXT topic to see if I knew some that COULD be helpful as the advices and idea's I have recieved from others on this forum.

The problem with over compartmentalizing the forums is people are not necessarily going to use them. You can have it over moderated and people be uptight. But that is kinda how I see that anyways, as uptight.

It's a small forum with a limited amount of traffic.

Agree.
This is only attempt to keep some ease in continuity as we don't have a clue what to expect and some people would appreciate picking right up on something they use often. Secondly, by dropping a link in the first thread that the OP starts, then referring back to an "oldie" would be easy. For all I know the original administrators could provide this, but a few of us know what we want to continue with.

If the thread loses activity it will still find its place either new or old and in the back pages. I was never suggesting these few startup threads be bulleted. They shouldn't be.

Btw, I sure hope the "New Forum" is actually new and has more of a tree like structure. That way people can actually see a trail of who is responding to whom. Be it another user, or directly to the OP, etc.

Copying and pasting quotes can still be used for specific quotes, but the way it is currently, it's pretty old hat, and not very visual.

Example: Propellerhead's forum has had a very nice tree like structure for a few years now.
https://www.propellerheads.se/forum/showthread.php?t=201534

Here's to a new forum (with tree structure), a new look, keeping the Header pic, and posed bullets a little more out of the way, a new S1 v3.0 on the way, and a continued great product!!!

I agree with a lot you say, but I hate the Propellerhead forums, I find it a bind to navigate, lose threads etc. Please, Please do not suggest these layouts. And yes I did try the various ways you could use that format from my preferences area. Still hate them, and only return if I am desperate for info.

sorry but i MUST agree... that forum is HORRID!!! reminds of FL Studio forums... and THAT is the most screwed up forum i frequent... and i do that very seldom because it is troublesome to navigate or follow anything. my suggestion... although it is too late to change by now... but it MUST be pleasant to the eye, easy to navigate and easy to search. anything else would be a waste of time and effort on presonus' part not to mention you will see FAR LESS participation. if the new forum is going to be THAT bad... we may as well keep this one.

just my opinion...

Jmo is all. It's easy for me to see the responses, but that's one point of view. I will respectfully disagree.

It's a no brainer that the tone of the Presonus forum is far more pleasant. Guess I'm just a tree kinda guy.

Maybe I should have picked a photography forum with a nice black background and tree like structure like DPReview.
A few million hits more a month than this forum will get you a fancy forum.

I liked when the Presonus forums were black background and not white pages.
Rumble rumble rumble. Uh oh, here come the "what?" crowd again.
