See how happy you have made the tinkerers?

Now go ahead and get your new toy. Just don't tell anyone why you did it.

Wow.. lots of ideas and such here... I've got a couple of posts regarding this here somewhere.... But briefly... You can buy a laptop with a cardslot and install a firewire card... I do this for a backup (an I5 processor works just fine)...
But the "e-ticket" is just build yourself a decent computer in a rack server case. I ran some pretty good fans (speed controlled)... and, while things ARE tight... it has worked out beautifully. Yeah... its bigger, heavier, and more cords to plug in... (and you should really throw in a small rack mount UPS... the advantage there is you can also run the mixer, so when someone inevitably trips over a power cord... or some bass player trys out that new 10 million watt power amp on 11 and knocks out every breaker... the board (AND COMPUTER DOESN'T HAVE TO REBOOT)... Another advantage.. it doesn't grow legs.. (who steals a desktop anymore)... and if one part breaks... you replace that part... and... I've never had a desktop catch on fire (My Toshiba laptop did... TWICE)

Please post in the "Made with Studio One" forum so we can tell you how it would have been better if you had used the k-system and Mogami cables.
