Time to update........well, in a little while, anyway.
Hmmm, a little under 9 months.........
Sounds like Studio One is pregnant with child.

Uh, I hope for new GUI looks, automations completely overhauled and some pattern/clip style of work included. Than I will be happy for the rest of my life.

Wouldnt hold my breath for pattern/clip style with the release of Bitwig imminent. That market will be saturated and catering to that style of music is not really S1s selling point (which is not to say it's not entirely doable already).

I use live for that stuff. I don't want S1 to be like sonar, bloated and less attention to detail.

I'm prolly in the huge minority about the looks. I think I was put off at one point, but after so much stability and ease of use, I'm completely over it.

My list is short but sweet.

-CPU optimization so that things like NI studio drummer works w/o all the crazy all over the place CPU meter
-The ability to "freeze" the controls in the arrangement view so that you don't accidentally start knocking things about
-Midi improvements that primarily include it operating as expected. People that draw notes in or don't use midi need not be beta testers for this
-Please fix it to where adding busses and instrument tracks is not a frustrating mess in the mixer! And proper color coding
-Track templates (mainly for multi out stuff like omni, kontakt, SSD, ect)
-Mulitple drag/drop FX. For example, applying satson channel to 15 tracks at once Also, the ability to have types of FX on/off (like profools)
-Minor fixes and tidy up stuff

There are more, but I can't think of them. You can workaround most of this stuff, and I do. But we're talking about version 3

I really (x1K) hope they make it so clicking on a track in arrange view also grabs the clip of that track. I can't tell you how many times I've added another 100 years in purgatory to my sentence because I click on a track and start adjusting the Event FX of the previous clip I had clicked on.

Amen Bub, I totally forgot about how much that one annoys me at times .

On top of your list, I would also love to see some sort of expression mapping system as well as step input so I can step through my performances and input my sample changes. Additionally, a better beat mapping system and a free-hand pencil tool to draw your own tempo track curves.

I do also hugely wish for more color options. Believe it or not, I love the grey etc. but I do want more colors for my tracks and mixers. The general GUI to me though is very nice and I can work on it all day without to much eye strain. And I am very happy with the detachable windows, or keeping both arrange and midi editing window in one neat view.

I know we have at one time or another put these into the wish list and I am also certain that they have done their homework of investigating what other manufacturers are doing, and creating a way to do it themselves. I am sure in time we will probably see everything we ask for, it's just about what do they consider the priority list, and in what order are those feature requests/designs.

I think we will be mostly happy with the new V3.

Bitwig Studio can offer both Linear and Pattern-Based workflows. So, it offers you what makes you creative, depending on your needs.

Studio One Pro V3 would also benefit a huge deal if it offered a Pattern-Based option if you feel like it would be better for your project. In addition to the current linear method of constructing an arrangement.

imho. it would be a very good, and smart move from Presonus if they were to add a Pattern-Based option into V3.

I don't get it why any user would be against adding this, if it is just a new and cool option. You can choose to use it or not.

Hopefully Presonus are not ignoring this !

Cheers,

Yes and yes yes. Toss in an alternate "darker" theme and I would be a happy camper. No free theming or 10 different themes, just a single alternative darker theme.

Ah, so you're all throwing your feature requests in here thinking they'll be visible and you get your order in, huh? You sly dogs, you.

That's really funny if you read it as Stewie Griffin.
