we are still limited to 1 to 16 and there is no "Omni" or "Any" .

Usage : let's say that i have 5 instruments on one KONTAKT instance, and i would like to assign a controller to control all the 5 channels at once , in the recent way i"ll have to assign another 5 empty channels with separate controls and draw an automation for each individual channel.

Why wouldn't you set each instrument in Kontakt to get input from the same MIDI port? I do this all the time, works great.

Why then with other Daws I do not have to do such a workaround? I never had to do as much with Studio One as with Pro tools. From day one pro tools has been on point with rewire. I love studio one, but its so hard for me to go through some much for a work around.

Let's say we have many tracks, and each has a different line, so we have to create many channels dedicated for each part (violin ,viola, chello, bass etc.) while in the same time we need to control a shared feature for all the parts in the same time (e.g. articulation , microtuning etc.) , it's much simple to create another empty track dedicated for that specific control and assign the output to "All" channels in the soft/hard synth/sampler , and doing it one time. (take a look at the very simple edition of cubase). why to work hard ? work smart !

Free audio routing in mixer, that is one of the things that was holding S1 back in terms of mixing.

Not anymore...

Any possibility you might be able to give us a general heads up on what we might be able to look forward to in v. 2? I'm not so concerned about the time frame but to be honest I am still somewhat holding off using S1 exclusively not knowing if some of the features I truly need will be incorporated this year. If they are in the works I'll plow through for now and wait. However, for the moment I'm still primarily using other DAW's...even though I love S1!

Thanks,

Well, You may have to either move on or just wait then, I guess. Since I didn't know anything about Studio One when I bought Cubase 5, I understand how you feel. But having said that, V2 is quite a ways off so we need to be patient. I don't wanna see V2 come out with only a few enhancements, seeing that it will NOT be a free update.

Thx for All Inputs and the Mackie HUI support.

Unfortunately there are still problems with Drumcore V3.
The GUI of the VST is still blank and the AU only partially displayed.
AU is a little improved as you can use some of the GUI elements now, but no sound at all.

Daaaamn "drumcore"... is that plugins still around and exist? Been a long time haven't heard from them although I have it somewhere in my archive Vsti. It was a cool idea starting...

Hope S1 team will come thru your problem mate!

I was not saying that you should have to do a workaround. I was saying that from a development perspective, we have not yet implemented a workaround for the way ReWire gives channels to us (one stereo 'main' pair, the rest mono). Other DAWs have a few years on us, as I'm sure you know. Your request will not go unheard, it just didn't make into this update.

Thank You Presonus for Addressing and Correcting this issue!

Multiprocessing Support in Plug-ins
If any playback issues are encountered with third-party virtual
instrument or effect plug-ins that have their own multiprocessorsupport
implementation (e.g., Native Instruments Kontakt and
Image-Line FL Studio), it is recommended that this support be
disabled in the plug-ins. In this case, Studio One will manage all
processor scheduling.

Thank you for the update. Couldn't check it out completely - but it runs

Oh really? Why? Logic9 in 64-Bit does not support Rewire at all http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3171

Alright guys, just chill calm down people.
Although there are any much new stuff came out with this update. Let's thank and appreciate S1 developers for their hard work.
BUT people V2.0 better have a lot new stuff bcuz I don't wanna see only long list of bug fixes .
Look at fl studio 9.6 is just getting better. I think fl studio 10 is going to kill the game. So S1 you better catch up and raise the bar higher with V2.0

Some of the reactions here are hilarious. I'm not sure why every DAW has to be a contestant on "The Dating Game" or whatever. The ultimate battle of the DAWs. "There can be only one."

They don't really have to do anything but keep improving the product in a consistent measured way. There will be a market for it no matter what and 15 years from now someone will still be griping about something some other product has. Those who aren't happy will move on to something else. Those unhappy elsewhere may move to S1.
