So the result is - we want to see as many options as possible to be able to configure mixer for every single user's taste

I could be guilty of missing the original request but yes more for everyone with options.

Seriously though if additions to the mixer are a consideration then just adding knobs I don't believe has any real advantage (ok its optional for faders or knobs, got it). What would be useful is visual indicators such as compression level, or any threshold or values at a glance if that channel happens to use any of those devices. That would provide some useful visual aid. Of course it's all about listening but misc metering with a few primary control points (be it sliders or knobs) would be practical and not be too much of a screen hog. Or you simply detach the mixer the way it is already.
I guess I am just trying to help the cause with a "yes the mixer could be better".

more options does lead to more bloat. look at cubase.

i am for more options but i dont want it to get in the way of workflow.

Indeed. But I meen a littli bit different thing. I want to be able to configure my workspace (including mixer) one time, and then work with once configured in all my songs. Cubase does many limitations with its new console, and you need to reconfig it many times even working in one session. So I agree - many options should not overload workflow

Exactly right. Clearly what Steinberg should have done is fix their crappy ancient inflexible mixer and do what everybody else is doing instead of wasting time coding a "console" that does the same as so many plugins that were already available. Feature-wise Cubase is great, but as far as workflow goes it's just a bloated turd.

Bottom line: Keep workflow first and the extras optional e.g. add-ons, the way PreSonus do!
Windows 7 64-bit
Intel Core i7 920 CPU, 12 GB RAM
RME FireFace 400, NI Audio Kontrol 1
Presonus Studio One 2 v2.6.2 64-bit

My feature wish list:
1. Automation clips
2. Ability to (optionally) undo everything, inc. plugin and mixer knob/fader/buttons, add/remove insert, add/remove plugin, etc...
3. Mixer snapshots
4. Wraparound slide audio items like in Reaper

I vote for keeping the console slick and free of unnecessary buttons. Have you ever experienced the pain of the Sonar mixer?

think of it this way everybody dont like the same things, but some people do want a console type mixer so it should be a option of witch one the individual wants like in propellerhead Reason

Well first I'd like to know what's wrong with the current studio one mixer because personally it works well for me, its simple, the layout is straight forward and its not burdened by built in eq fx
Just head over to the Steinberg forum and read the unhappy comments about the new mixer.
The only thing I'd change about the S1 mixer is full colour a la Pro tools, that has always been easier for me to tell what type of track I'm looking at at a glance.

Check this for some nice 'in the box' mixing shenanigans. SSL rocks, even if it is only a virtual one.
