Another quick question about the ZLM cue thing since it seems not to be generic, but a specific feature of the StudioLive-VSL combination.

Is it smart enough to turn off the VSL direct source in the ZLM cue mix when StudioOne is in playback? The experiment is to set up a ZLM cue, start a playback that's routed to the headphone mix, and see if you can still hear yourself talking into your mic on top of the playback.

I'm assuming a "tape deck monitoring" setup in StudioOne, where when a track is armed you get the track input at the output (which presumably gets replaced with the ZLM setup), but when playing back (even with the track armed but not recording) you hear what's recorded on the track.

Just curious.

That is not really related to this topic, so I'd prefer if you created a seperate thread to discuss that. But to answer your question, yes that works since ZLM uses the 'monitoring' button in S1. It works no different than software monitoring.

Actually Mike when I set S1 to "tape deck style" it Mutes the track on playback if the monitor button is on.

Too many buttons for me. I guess I'll have to see it up close. Does this mean that after you've overdubbed a track in "tape deck" monitoring, you need to click a button in order to hear playback of the track you just recorded?

By request (and I think it's a fair one) we should be discussing how Zero Latency Monitoring works in another thread. Since it seems to be a function where Studio One controls routing in the 1818VSL's mixer maybe they're talking about it over in that forum, which I don't regularly read since I don't use Studio One.

Thanks.
