That was trippy. The post (while logged out) shows anonymous but the last post in the forum still had my real login nick. I suppose it used IP tracking for that.

Trippy.

Did you take the time to dig into the free version to find out what "full features" that S1 has? I doubt it.
Sure VSTs help with the creative thought process, but sometimes less is more. The "free" version is acutally helping me get a better understanding of Presence. We all have fallen into this mode of Musicians A.D.D.
instead of focusing on one thing and learning it, we're trying this DAW out, I don't like this one. Let me try this one. Nooooo, maybe that one. or that one. Dig deep. Focus. Learn what you have to learn, then from there you can figure out if the program is for you or not. If it's for you then stick with it. If not.....................then move on.

Presonus you guys are doing great! But again IMO being able to post anonymously is a BAAAADD idea.

I tried the free version, as a way to see if I would like a paid version enough, to buy some interface that includes it.
300 meg of content, some fx plugins, and various audio tools, is enough to get a feel for things. A question:

On XP SP3, I use a Fender usb guitar amp as input device, with Fender asio, and an m-audio pci card as output device,
but I can't get S1Free to let me hear the output via the pci card. It records the guitar input to aif file fine, just no apparent way to
monitor on the pci card outputs while playing. This is not a problem when using reaper on the same setup, or recording in linux.
Hopefully just a newbie overlooking a config option.

The song setup and options allow for Fender asio, or maudio asio, but not one of each for input/output devices.
Is there a way?

Another thing, I would like to drive the nice bundled drumkits from a hardware drum machine. I can play them
on my midi keyboard, but they ignore the hardware midi input. Again, this works fine in Reaper, or linux.
Any way?

What fonts and gui kit are used by Studio One?

Thanks for making this available, will test more tonight.

I was able to get both separate input and outputs working, I activated the mAudio in the wdm section
of the asio setup page, and typed in its name in the Output Device field, thanks to looking at the mac/mic topic.
Not sure if one or both were needed, but it works.

I notice on returning to that setup page, that the mAudio device name I typed in, is again reading 'Main',
but now the four mAudio outputs are listed on top.

The fx section is quite nice. The complainers will overlook that, I'm sure.
Now I have to read the manual to see how to record the loops
and the instruments together. Such things are weekends made for.

I am a bit of a noob. downloaded S1 free today. Wasn't sure if I got pro or a stripped down version. My system shows 2.05 so I believe I got pro demo version. But, nothing came up for activation and when I registered with presonus, no activation was necessary. I uninstalled and tried downloading again, but, ti still says free version. Hmmm? My problem is that I can drag an existing midi file in from the browser, but, I cannot play it back. I have watched numerous videos. Read pages of the user manual. My head is spinnning, Have checked ASIO audio etc. I think there are two possible problems. One is that I cannot see any instrument patches in the browser window below Prescence. Also, in the inspector window ( lets say I have highlighted the bass track.). It says no channel selected. and I also got a message ( I dont' remember how) that said somethign about no software instrument connected. since I cannot see any patches in the browse window, I cannot drag and drop to the bass track. so where are the patches? And how do I assign the channel for the inpsection window. Is it general midi assignment? Help and thanks!

Spam city, I think they may have not anticipated that or they figured it would not be a problem. Hopefully the floodgates don't open my friends.
