emrahcelik wrote:I have created a LOOP&PLAY macro and it's working like SHIFT+G command on cubase. when you select an event, it will activate the loop+ loop selected and play from loop start. You can also assign any key command as im an old cubase user I assigned SHIFT+G. I don't know where to share it but you can download it from attachment. Please let me know your feedbacks

simply copy this file to your macros folder in your S1 project folder. not sure if key command works just assign a key command.

I was actually looking for something like this, thanks!

In your help section in Studio One is a PDF that gives a pretty good tutorial for starters and there is a HTML doc in your Presonus folder with all the actions listed.

edit: What emrahcelik said is good advice my friend.

I checked the pdf, looked up extensions I have, some information regarding soundcloud. That's all. I did find the Macro's in the presonus folder.

Can I ask a really newbish question, as I'm not aware of how detailed these macro's can be, but will they allow a user to load a couple instruments, save some fx, and then save these actions to a macro, for recall?

I'm sorry if I'm asking alot of questions, but I'm simply just trying to understand how this all works. What the benefit for me would be, for my workflow. And I'm scratching my head as to why I don't find the macro information in my .pdf, perhaps I'm looking in all the wrong places

There should be a link to the help file right on the toolbar menu, under "Setup".

As to the purpose, in the simplest terms, it's automation, command automation. Anything you might regulalry do that takes more than one keypress is a good candidate for being automated with a macro. A simple example... while composing you might regulalry "block out" your sections with audio parts. You can automate that by stringing commands together that will split everything in the loops range and then combine it all to audio parts.

That one is in there already, already built, in the action menu.

On another level, if there is something you wished Studio One could do, it may now be possible with a macro, like duplicating a media event to the left. It will even rename clips directly create named markers automatically, all kinds of potentially handy stuff.

Sounds cool, I finally got the pdf as well. So let me ask is this possible to string together actions I would do like opening an instrument, assigning a few fx, layering it with another instrument..

Then assigning this to a macro?

+ 1. You can also insert instrument channels with vsti itself if you write the name of instrument correctly. Even you can insert event fx vst with just one button or a key command. It's just wonderful function. I wish I could map my standard usb midi keyboard or nanopad2 as a control surface.

I don't know if that's possible just yet. You can however create a macro to insert an audio plug (any plug or chain) directly on a clip, as Event FX.

Edit: I see the poster above already covered that, event fx.

Here is the macro for Console view. large or small. simply load the macros to the macros folder and add new group and new buttons and label them LARGE and SMALL. you can also assign key shortcut. Haven't figure out narrow and normal view yet. File attached.

what I did was open a complex macro in notepad+. then wrote a new from there. It's XML with the Prefix *,studioonemacro. the arguments are there, just open one in a text editor.

It would be nice to have list as soon as possible my friend.
