A strong move might be moving the Technical support section between the General Discussions and Tips and Tricks.

Hopefully this will end the constant question on how to circumvent the program with hack requests, I don't believe there is a precedence set because it was tolerated in earlier posts. Presonus has done an excellent job with version 2 in providing Producer so those that want VST's can use them, we don't need anymore discussion on hack's or work around's, this is in my opinion a logical move.

Just for clarification:

I understand that the "I can't get the software to work correctly" problems should be posted in the Technical Support Section. But I want to know if the "I just want to know how to use a certain feature of the program" problems be posted in Technical Support also or posted in General Discussion.

Well, the post was about the first category. I think if you think about where to put it, your judgement will be good enough.
(Whereas if you can not go into the tech support section, it really is more of a pre sales question..)

There is a separate section for that, named "Technical Support"!

Please do not provide support here either.

I will follow this sir! Never really thought about it till now. I think LMike is "Right On" with his opinion on the actual intent of your post.

I would hate to see this forum end up like Steinberg's where you can't even ask a question without a serial number....lol. At least that's how it was a year ago.

Finally some law and order. The previous situation was untenable. In order to get optimal help one had to post in General, Tech Support and take out a support ticket.

Hopefully the duplication will now cease as everybody posts and provides support in the intended forum. Good call Eike..

"Technical Support" doesnt even have a "New Post" button, so I might as well post my question here since I need help desperately.

But that could mean:

1. you're not using the name you registered Studio One under
2. you're not using a registered version of Studio One

I'm not 100% sure but even the Demo registration should allow you to post there.

Why is that so strange? Those are the rules here.

Only people who've purchased have access to post in the tech support board so if you're using a demo (you didn't say) you should post your question in the PreSales board.

http://forumsarchive.presonus.com/forums/show/17.page

If you actually have purchased S1 already and are logged in with your purchase account and can't post in the tech support board ... make a thread asking for a fix, or PM one of the mods (user names in white at the bottom of the forum) there may be a web issue, dunno.

Not saying this will work for everyone but it did for me and I know of others with the same probelm who "fixed it" by doing the following.

If you have used the demo and then upgraded you may not be able to post in the Technical Support Area if you have the same log-in instance to the forum saved for auto log in. Simply log out of the forum and then log in. For some reason this "clears" up the problem.
