This is pretty funny. Now we're discussing not only GUI, but also the definition of majorities.

You all know democracy is just an illusion, don't you?

Stare at Abletons GUI for awhile and you will love S1's look

I think it's perfectly fine..
but what Presonus should do is give users the option of adding skins.. now that would be cool

but also.. I know that would be more coding and all that technical stuff

No, please no. That's like introducing democracy in China

OK, seriously, I think allowing some subtle contrast/color adjustments like in Cubase would be nice to have, but skinning shouldn't be included. S1 has a strong visual branding and skinning would kill just that.

Ableton Tried every home made skin i could possibley make, and make apppealing to my own taste, but it never lasts long
Ableton has some wicked stuff, But looking at it for hours just kills my brain more than any other Major Daw, its okay for a few hour in session view, but track view/Production view makes me Wimper after a while

Thats the only thing with Coding as you say (Look at Sonar) whoops one code to far maybe,
maybe a few ready made options and a few main user tweeks to get their contrast as they wish, but full user cutom option would be wrong way to go i think, adds more complication in the long run.

Just imagine being able to have this view in s1, for multiple lanes at the same time, better than the multi lane midi editor, which is more for orchestral arrangent, and bare in mind you cant beat this for drum sequencing also, its a must have view.
Cubase edit in place

But then we will only be left with a dictatorship (if that how you spell it Iam Cr*p at spelling Somedays more than others)
Thats why we have democracy in the civil world, and we would not have come to these results from a handful of S1 users

Its all debate

As a start you may want to visit the following site:

And as a conclusion think about "Freedom of opinion".

I like both versions, and as I said before in a few weks noone will talk about the 3 D ....

The only thing I really would like to have is the possibility to have mor intensive colors for the indication. eg metronom and a creamy white arange area.

@ Bmw3. Hve you been in the Cubase forum as BMW4???

Everybody knows that GUI need some improvements in contrast and so on, but ffs, it will take a while and dev. team must be looking at this.
IMO there is enough topics about this. People should discuss and vote it here before creating new useless topics blaming the new GUI: http://forumsarchive.presonus.com/posts/list/14982.page

Yeah, I know about this stuff, but Wikipedia is not my reference..

1.000.000 people voting for next president X or Y:

President X - 499.999 votes
President Y - 500.001 votes

President Y wins! That's is democracy if you have some sense of humour!
