I hear you Rob.

When it comes to the future and general financial matters we'd all be rich if we knew what was gonna happen in the future and when. It's always a guessing game absent inside info.

If only I knew the future of Apple when I was 17... gosh... i'd be sipping boat drinks with 5 stark naked Victoria Secrect models right now.

I would suggest you contact support and get them to help you out. Not much we can do from here in your case, I suppose.

If I upgrade to pro now and pay $99 and then need to fork out another $150 for v2 for v1-->v2. How about upgrade from v1 artist to v2 pro? Is this current deal included in any grace period for the update to v2?....... So many questions about the buy/upgrade matrix.

Exactly my thoughts.

We have a saying here that says "don't look a gift horse in the mouth", which means basically "show some grace when someone gives you a gift".

Personally, I jumped at the special price.

Most upgrade plans seem to work that if you have a fairly recent or powerful version of a piece of software, then the price to move to a newer version is much less. I assume that people wanting to buy V2 Pro outright will pay the most, followed by the ones moving from V1 Artist, while those who own V1 Pro will have the cheapest option. Am I right? Hopefully, someone upgrading to V1 Pro now then V2 Pro later will still end up paying no more than someone upgrading from V1 Artist after October. Phew...

...must spend some more time with the demo version to decide if I should go Pro yet...

We also have a saying "All that glitters isn't gold"

If I were to stay at v1 then the upgrade price is a no-brainer.

However if the speculated price is $150 for v2 upgrade then that will be a total of $249.

Some days ago an upgrade from artist to pro was $199. I am therefor speculating in that an upgrade from v1 artist to v2 pro is going to be $199.

If I'm correct then my 'gift' would cost me $50

Am I greedy? Perhaps, but I have several of those small bills and it adds up to quite a lot of money in the end.

I'd like to know the future too. Then I'd have cashed out my stocks before the IT-crash and I wouldn't have left some savings at Lehman Brothers

This is weird with version 2.0 right around the corner. Typically an upgrade purchase followed by a new release means you get a free upgrade to the latest version, In hopes I get a free upgrade to 2 for recently purchasing V1 I'm going to wait to October since this is good until Oct 31st

Pro = $199 US
Artist = $99 US
Upgrade from Artist to Pro = $99 US.

Their must be a higher being out their that is looking over me!
Oh yes, Thanks for the great news jonathan, going to be tight with money for me either way, But i was coming back to being a S1 user anyhow,i missed it so much it hurts, But this has deffo speeded up when this will take place, then the release of V2 , so this could well make it all possible for me now, sooner rather than later, although the mrs wont be happy with this extra cost at this time , But i have told her it will save in the long run so this makes sense

Happy days!
Just imagine being able to have this view in s1, for multiple lanes at the same time, better than the multi lane midi editor,which is more for orchestral arrangent, and bare in mind you cant beat this for drum sequencing also, its a must have view.

Will the update from version 1 to version 2 be free ? or will we need to pay extra to upgrade to version 2 ?

Version 2 is what I'm interested in, there is no info. regarding upgrade pricing from V1 to V2 . Any feedback on this from Presonus ?

I'm ready to pull the trigger on V1 (50% off deal) , but what about V2 upgrade pricing ? Could you please give us some more info. on this ?

Thanks,
Muziksculp

The update from v1 to v2 will be a payed upgrade. The exact prices and possible grace periods haven't communicated as they haven't been decided on. If they were, they would have been published.
