A little early but just in terms of sound I like it. I threw a nice medium hall on some vocals and thought it sound very good.

thx for your reply.

I bought the update today but haven't installed it yet. I was looking for BREVERB and wondered, if this maybe would be obsolete. Reverb and Room is sooo frikking important.

Always good to have more than one, in addition to the built in reverbs I would suggest ValhallaRoom.

Make it idiot proof, and someone will make a better idiot!

BREVERB is an algorithmic one. I tend to believe you need (at least) one of each type. I wouldn't rely on a convolution reverb only.

That said, I heard the algorithmic ones in Studio One aren't bad at all either ...

Anyone know if we can use 3rd-party IRs in it? Would be nice to have one of the Sony scoring stage IRs.

Sure. Try to drag'n'drop a wav from the browser to the OpenAIR GUI.

I'm not sure, though, if there's a full list of supported file types and formats.

Yes, just drag & drop most 3rd party IRs on to it. For example, try a few of these:

That would be great. OpenAir just crashed S1 by loading a 4 channel true stereo IR. It would be great to have a list of the file types to avoid.

well, the 2.03 won't try to load multichannel files anymore. other than that, mono and stereo files will work. aiff or wav. whatever studio one can see as audio should work. i'd avoid lossy compressed files though.

I like the sound but find I get bad CPU spikes using it.
Focusrite 18i20. An '1818' that actually works as advertised and has great support!! But Presonus will continue the story it was all my systems and there is no hardware issue with the 1818 and the drivers are great.

Almost two years on and Presonus continues to say it's a 'top priority' but have no driver updates, make excuses and blame others (Intel, USB3 Microsoft, Apple and now the company that writes their drivers!) when other companies have it all working on the same systems!! And it so refreshing to get regular software updates and responsive and effective support!

And the 1818 does not have 'on-board DSP' as continues to be claimed.

how many cores do you have? (as a workaround to try: disabling one core in the options may remove that problem. this should be improved in the 2.03 as well)

anyone else with this problem??
