I'm still a bit confused as to how I can chop up a sample, and then send it to Sampleone to be played as individual slices.. If you have a clue can you explain for the folks like myself, who are lost on this one.. (want to be able to play the slices via midi controller.)

Thanks so much,,

fwiw I've got as far as being able to manually slice up the sample the way I want it, but have no clue as to turn it into a playable set of slices via midi controller..

Again thanks

You can just drag the slices into impact, assign your keyboard controller and trigger them that way....just sayin.....

That would take forever, hardly the presonus type of workflow,as to the reason I'm here. There's been mention of a different workflow, but I'm not yet completely understanding the methods to it yet.
Hopefully one of the nice gents from Presonus would care to explain..

Do the following to slice, export, store and assign the slices to individual notes on the keyboard.

- Select audio event
- Open the bend marker panel
- Analyze, adjust sensitivity, check the slice option, check the merge option
- You end up with the Audio Loop
- Drag and drop to the browser to export and store
- Right click on the exported loop and select 'Add to new Sample One'

I've been playing with this, and I'm not in love with the whole audioloop, keep dragging to browser thing. It's be much better if after we sliced our samples we could just right click, assign to sample one,, then all of our samples would be mapped without having to manually map each one..

Same thing for track presets, or audio loops, the whole drag to a browser, slows it all down.. Hopefully a right click option can be considered here..with both of these items.

It does that already.

Example: I slice a clip into four parts and select the slices and "Send To New Sample One". They get mapped like below automatically...

Slice 1: Root C3 High C#3
Slice 2: Root D3 High D#3
Slice 3: Root E3 High E3
Slice 4: Root F3 High G8 (because it's the last one)

All the "Lo" mappings beyond the first are the same as the root.

So I can immediately start playing those samples on the C, D, E, F keys and any that happen to land on keys with a sharp get an additional sharp pitching mapped.

Same thing there. Once you group slices into an audio part (G), the right click menu becomes enabled, "Audio | Export Audio Loop...", it's already there.

That all assumes that you actually want to save the audio loop somewhere on the file system. Either method (the browser or a dialog that shows the file system) you'll still have to navigate to the folder where you want to save it so I'm not sure how the browser slows that down. It actually seems faster to me, the browser.

Okay so I took a sample, chopped it into about 8 pieces using the split tool for fine cuts.. I then highlighted all of the slices , right clicked on them and used the send to sample one..

I ended up having the slices chopped with exrtra pitched notes, this is what confuses me, why would would i want their different semi tones of the sample? I just want to have the original sliced samples..

The mapping part is confusing, so in order for me to have the sample sliced the way I want to play it back midi, I'd have to remap them in sample one?

I only want the 8 slices, not a bunch of fill in semi tones of each sample.. Am I doing something wrong here?

Is there anyway to get sample one to just map the 8 slices that I chopped up, instead of adding all of the semi notes in between? This is what is confusing me,as I have no need or use for the other semitones, and to remap them will slow down the workflow..
