Newb here with a PS 24. I run an LS-9 for our church, but just purchased a PS 24 for meself.

Lots-o-bang for the buck, but I'm finding some things that I am trying to distinguish from "no can do", to "read the manual again and you'll figure it out".

Anyway, is there any way to route the 2-track input to one of the sub groups or one of the faders? I would really like to be able to apply some EQ to the tape in.

Thanks,
Brad

No can do... But you could come in aux A or aux B and add EQ

The Tape In was made for Cds or Ipod inputs or stuff that dont "necessary" need the fat channel so if you need to apply EQ, but is a good idea to send the Tape In to a Sub or a fader, but you have the trim just there...

Thanks for the feedback - and that's what I thought you would tell me.

I run my subs through Aux 2, so unless I have access to that, the tape in doesn't get any subs. I guess I'll just have to route the tape in trough another aux, or use up a couple of my channels.

Thanks again,
Brad

Are you trying to route the tape to aux2 or subgroup 2? You can send it to all of the aux outs if you want by pushing the select on the aux you want two times and then just turn up the encoder for the tape in. Look under the the fat channel leds. (Read page 41) Or like I said you could can use aux A or aux B (input) hit select and the rest is just like a channel.

I don't think I have ever used the tape ins. I've always used the aux ins for the comp.

That's how mine is set up as well, bringing the cd/iPod deck (a Tascam rack unit) into Aux Return A. Some of the tracks can have a pretty wide volume range, so being able to compress or limit that, in addition to EQ, is a big plus.

Also, we assign the return to Subgroup 4 which puts it on a fader for easy control (and more fat channel access, if there was a reason to need that). The main reason is just to put it into easy overall control with the FX. Our sound engineer prefers all channel faders going straight to the mains out, so all of our subgroups are open for anything that needs to be in easy reach, or needs to be muted at times.

So far, it has been a great solution for us. Better sound, more control.
