The GUI looks good. I love the simple look of S1 both v1 and v2

Gutted i missed the teaser, been holding out before coming back to S1 after i stupidly jumped ship end of last year, so still got to find the cash, and what a mission thats going to be at the moment for me here in the uk, need to find work quick

I dont suppose their was Anything like a inline piano roll announced ? , thats my major want along with the elastic audio and track folders, all would be perfect then.

Buzzing also to see the exitement from you all, I miss this from the Presonus forums here, got to get back up and running soon.
Their is just an air of togetherness here i miss.
Just imagine being able to have this view in s1, for multiple lanes at the same time, better than the multi lane midi editor, which is more for orchestral arrangent, and bare in mind you cant beat this for drum sequencing also, its a must have view.
Cubase edit in place

sonar inline piano roll

and a few others Daws also have this editing feature.

Cheers K, i will be back when i can, at the moment iam stuck with Sonar X1 as i could not resell Sonar when my funds where tight all that time ago so i let S1 slip through my fingers , The only thing that makes Sonar Barable is the Inline piano roll and after using that i find it hard to do without now its so valuable, pity the work flow is so un-inspiring, but as far as Quick Results go along with automation and control link, THEIR CAN BE ONLY ONE -Highlander lol I miss these features oh so too much, so this V2 Is a big Eyes peeled watch for me.

Although another thing I would push for once i have come back, is a simple little thing, but the ability to resize the midi data you can see as it is somewhat hidden in your track lines kind of pointless having it their at all, may as well have blank clips like ableton, just need to be able to home in on notes at a glance in the overall arangment again this is the only other thing i like about Sonar and Reaper or Fruityloops , midi data is nice and clear at a glance.

Hope all is good with You Kalbert/ life being fair i hope.

Hi Jason,

Nice to see around these here parts again.

Based on some of the leaked info I think folder tracks (or some form of it) and some kind of feature similar to elastic audio is in V2 but that is based leaked info AFAICT. I think Tuesday next week will be the day for the full V2 feature list so not long to go now.

Jason ,do you mean that Sonar has Edit In Place on midi tracks ? Cubase has this and its a great way of editing midi notes direct in the arrangement page without having to open the full blown midi editor. I hope we see this in S1 version two

You know what? I was pretty excited when Cubase got Inline Edit back then. However, it turned out that I practically never used it because of the constant zooming necessary. I very much prefer an editor which is always at the same place and at the correct zoom level (without messing with the arrangement).

Just saying ...

Yes used Edit in place, although i Prefer sonar's Inline paino roll Much , as you can also Click to the left of Midi Display in the keys area and select fit to size or somthing like that at it makes the midi expand to the height of the Inline display, a little hit a miss but no big deal it does the job , i just love the ability to have say three Drum tracks up in view and Be able to Build my drum parts as i go and compare each to get the variation and dimension with Velocity etc.
But i would also like to see some Vst paramters as well in this way maybe Cuttoff Res etc per Note this being a bit like you can alter the parameters in Fxpansions giest Drum sampler per drum Line/Hit . I am not the best Producer, i never Finish tracks as i am a pefectionist 100's of exellent tracks over the years much loss in money that i should have earned, but just not quite enough flow or dimension for my pefect ears lol, but now i have found the inline Piano roll, My work Is coming of age, Just have Problems with the rest of sonar X1, so i would say the inline piano roll in conjunction with drum replacement tools and sidechaining is the way The pros do it and the Inline For me is Vital to head this way.
It simple to use yet allows you to see exactly what you are doing in comparision to the next track, and the same goes for my other Vst synth layers etc, i am always a step ahead in the fact that i can see where my woven midi track line are heading the respond in ways that only the inline can allow my tracks just seem to evolve so much better, i cant sell it any more than that

Sonars is much better than Edit in place, a few tweeks and it could be unbeatable, unless studio one team do it in the exellent manor they implement other things. sonar and Cubase are lacking the ability of midi mapping to open these views up on will.i would love to see presonus fetch out a upgrade on the Faderport and a few extra function buttons for what i just mentioned and a few other ideas i have not.
so also eight endless encoders for bussing purpose only, i am happy with eight busses or fx tracks so eight endless encoders for this on a new faderport would be great .

Thanks Jason. Well, I wouldn't mind trying something new - if it's done the unbeatable PreSonus way ...

Just seen this thread Guys http://forumsarchive.presonus.com/posts/list/105/14627.page Bigboifrank has posted about multitrack midi editing,That sounds like an inline to me or at least as i mentioned about a year back the ability to bring up another Piano roll to do a compare. Not getting my hopes up, but i just got a little Goosbump at the thought.

Ps: thanks again db.
