Well this is a b-side of a project i tracked fully in S1 Pro. It is a b-side and did not make the record so I can post it for whatever use. Just wanted to share a rock/metal track all recorded in Studio One Pro. Good times with this DAW. Check it out.

I don't have any experience with the genre but it sounds really, really heavily limited to me. I think maybe some of the "power" of the drums is being lost because of the heavy limiting or compression is pushing it down.

Then again, I have no real reference so I might be way off base... Best of luck to you my friend.

Actually I do appreciate some stuff of the genre and it is not as limited as most of the stuff, by far of some of the "heavier" bands, actually it is a nice job by that genres standards (or style if you prefer), or at least in line with what I usually hear.

BTW nice music to, I am curious to know what it is in the album if that is not good enough to make it the rest should be really good .

Thanks pc999. This is one of those cases where I'm very happy to be wrong.

And to the OP, thanks for sharing your music with us.

Not at all, there is indeed heavy limiting and the drums lost some potential, just like you said, it just happen that most people who like this kind of music also like of the sound this way listening.

Yes the limiting is there for sure but this is not even a real mix. It was pretty much out of the box from the tracking stages. I will limit the things heavy if needed because I have lost mixing jobs from labels because I sent a "good mix" to the a&r guy and they like the crap mix with all the limiting. A&R people are not engineers at all. Anyhoo thanks for checking it out guys. It seems that most S1 users program music and use virtual instruments more than record live instruments so I thought I would share some audio.

I think it sounds great. I would love to hear a final mix on this. The toms in the first break down around the minute mark sound awesome but they make the drums in the rest of the track sound lifeless. Keep us up to date on this one. Good job man.

Not really my thing but I do think it sounds solid. Also nice to hear some audio stuff (yes, I'm one of those programming VSTI guys).
