At least there should be an option to link instrument tracks to a console channel. I am really optimistic that they will improve this one.

By the way, you can already assign an Instrument Track to one of the output channels of its virtual instrument in the Inspector.
However, this assignment only links the selection and placement of tracks and channels AFAIK.

Yes, thanks--I do know that--I'm talking about muting an instrument track and it doesn't mute because you have to go down to the console to mute it, and having
to rename an instrument track in both places--doesn't make sense...

The single most important thing I'd like to see is some sort of Take folder that's movable--comping is impossible if you can't move a set of comps and copy/paste/whatever...then the ridiculous stem export time.

I still love this program, for me in particular there wasn't anything of use in this update, I lost all my fx chains and am forced to do a paid update for melodyne. I'm sure some must be thrilled and I applaud the company's update velocity.

Well, acually it does makes sense, since you can have more than one Instrument Tracks feeding an instrument. Think of a bunch of drum tracks that go into a drum plug-in where you only use the stereo output. So in this example you might have ten tracks but only one channel. If you want to mute the snare you click on the mute button of the snare track but you don't want the channel to be muted. Same with renaming.
However it would probably be nice to have a link feature as mentioned by Timo above in situations where you have a one to one relationship between tracks and channels.

I get that--I guess I can't imagine going to the trouble of putting midi parts on different tracks but not sending individual sounds to their own console tracks. For me, I've always put all midi for a particular instrument on one track. I think it would serve better to default at stereo instrument buss mirroring the stereo instrument console track...every time I've had more than one track for an instrument, I've also wanted control over that track in the console. Obvious with drums, and having a bass synth and a pad in kontakt--who wouldn't want to mix those levels with fx in the console? There are always exceptions, but I think mirroring would serve best as default.

Is anyones Soundcloud integration working in 2.0.6 PE?

I couldn't get it to show up in the extensions list to enable it.

I got it to work by going to "C:\Program Files (x86)\PreSonus\Studio One 2\Extensions\soundcloud\plugins\win_x86"

and copied/duplicated the soundcloud.dll into the previous folder "C:\Program Files (x86)\PreSonus\Studio One 2\Extensions\soundcloud\plugins\" and ran Studio One 2 and it picked it up.

After I deleted the soundcloud.dll I duplicated and ran it again and it still works. However this wont work with the x64 version. Im figuring its a line of registry that wasn't updated or its just me?

Argh.

Still no fix for instrument track names not showing up in the console. What a drag. So ironic that you can setup an instrument track only 90% by dragging from the browser. You still have to go and rename in the console.

Still no fix for EZkeys (if you export midi by dragging to files, you can't then drag it into EZKeys).

Very disappointed.

Annoyances and issues still lingering. Especially with melodyne.

- Multi-channel out Instrument faders don't retain their custom colors. Upon closing the session and re-opening it, they revert back to the color of output 1-2 and/or the MIDI track that controls output 1-2 (main out).

- Can't group Multi-channel instrument out faders.

- Melodyne note overlay on the waveform doesn't go away when you remove melodyne.

- Melodyne using a GIGANTIC amount of memory.

- Some kind of strange Melodyne saving issue when the RAM is reaching its limit in x86. Crashes when trying to save your work.

- Losing window focus when melodyne is sent to second monitor in full screen. Pressing space bar does nothing. Have to re-click the main window to regain focus.

I know I'm forgetting some.. I will update when I run into them again.

I think most of these were related to the Melodyne rewire component. There was a big thread about it. I believe that this update along with the Melodyne update should fix them.

As far as space bar focus. That is a plugin design issue. All Waves plugins do this. Many others. I dont think Presonus can really do anything about it.

With Renoise as a host the spacebar always works as start/stop toggle.

FL Studio has this as an option in their vstwrapper, but doesn´t always work as good as in Renoise.

Ableton Live as a host does this very well, too.

And so does Cubase 6 (which I ended up using again because of this issue)
