Hi,

Thanks! I just upgraded to pro, very nice program.

Can you tell me how to get S1 to see my drum VSTi ? I created a midi instance using presence, but can't seem figure out how to get SSD (Steven slate drums) as the sound source, if that makes any sense.

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks, Bob

One more question, if you don't mind. I pointed S1 to my 3rd part VSTpluggin folder, but none of the pluggins are showing up in the browser view. Is S1 looking for .dll files or something else.

Once I figure these issues out I promise I'll stop bugging you -

Thanks Again!

Did you install the 64-bit or 32-bit version of S1? And are your plugins 64-bit or 32-bit?

32-bit S1 will only "see" 32-bit plugins, 64-bit S1 will only "see" 64-bit plugins. You can use a 3rd-party bit-bridge (like jBridge) to get around this.

You will need a bit-bridge to use the 32-bit plugs then. You can try jBridge. It works well for some folks and plugins, not so well for others. http://jstuff.wordpress.com/jbridge/

The only other alternative is to install the 32-bit version of S1 (you can have both 32 and 64 bit installed at the same time).

You would rather try and get the 64-bit versions of that software then to introduce an artificial layer between plugins and hosts. If you have SSD show up, just drag and drop it to the arrangement.

I finally got it to work - The Kontakt player (v3.5) runs both 32 and 64bit, so I dragged the related .dll files into Native instruments folder, restarted S1... now she works!

I like how you can just drag a vsti into a midi track and it works right off the bat. I had a real problem getting stuff set up in sonar midi wise. I managed it, but it was a pain in the *ss. This DAW is great!

Thanks for your help guys!

I just downloaded the free 30 day trial and I am very impressed. I worked in Cubase and Logic for many years. I love the interface and elegance to Studio One. I have read through here a bit and I just want to see if I understand what I am working with in the trial version. Am I correct that the 30 day trial has some missing features? Like in the way of plug ins and presets? I can't seem to get any sound at all from the synths and samplers and most of the plug ins load up as default and don't have any presets. I'm assuming once I purchase the full product there will be a bunch more files in my download page. Still even with all that stuff missing this DAW sounds very good, it's missing quite a bit in the way of audio editing except for really basic stuff like splitting but I realize that this software is in it's infancy and there will be lots of good stuff to come. One very cool feature is the event volume's right in the arrange screen, I saw a video of things to come in pro tools and that's one of the main features they are looking forward too.
It is my intention to buy this while it's discounted, I just sent in my Logic UPC to see if there will be a cross grade discount on top of the sale just waiting for the email back from Presonus. I will of course upgrade again as soon as V2 comes out I'm hoping they fill in a lot of the blanks regarding audio editing and a few more tools on the right click but I guess we'll just wait and see.
As far as some of the griping or wondering in this thread regarding upgrade pricing and grace periods, why would you expect a grace period if you can buy it at half price??? Grace periods are typically for people who just bought the existing version at full price and then an upgrade comes out soon afterwards. If they give it to you for half price they are basically giving you the grace period discount ahead of time.
Anyway I just thought I would check in and say hi, I really believe this DAW has the potential to surpass all the others and having looked through some of the release dates of the versions they seem to be working at blazing speed coming out with updates and upgrades. For some it might not seem that fast but if you have worked in other DAWs for extended periods of time you'll know what I'm talking about.

The demo is full featured. What you are missing are the extra soundsets. Those contain all the sample based presets.

Thanks Motoko, for the quick response that makes sense, I'm looking forward to checking those out. Hoping I'll have an email from Presonus on Monday. Whether there's a cross grade discount or not, I'll be buying this product I really think this is the future of DAWs.

I can only speak for myself, but I've been enjoying every minute on my time with S1. Which has been from day 0, dropped everything I could drop. PT needed to be around a little bit, but it doesn't get much love anymore.

Guys, One more question - Once I upgraded from artist to pro I downloaded the other instrument volume 2 and loops sets 2,3 & 4. Everytime I attempt to install them via Studio One Install I get a pop up asking me to" insert the Studio One 1.5 disc 2". I pointed towards the folder containing the files I downloaded, so I don't get it. Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks!
