hello friends!

i've been lot more absent lately. basically because my S1 just runs well, i have barely any complains. But i always lurk in to see any update.
I have to say, S1 updates always deliver!
Better Mackie Control support, Fat Channel plugin, better metronome, love the new render metronome, arming instrument tracks via faderport, selectable length at midi note writing, and stability fixes. All are things i wanted to have, now it's there. Great!

Thanks Hamburg team! Keep up the good work! You're making your loyal users really happy.

WE NUMBER ONE!

Well done Presonus!
Now to win is one thing, to keep it at that level is a whole another area. Hope this will motivate you guys to do even more.

For all other S1 fellas, long time no see,... it's because S1 is near perfect already (at least for me though), i'm working on my album project and it's a blessing to work with this DAW.

Studio One General Discussion » CUBASE 7 vs STUDIO ONE!!! » Go to message
Eddie Macarthur wrote:workflow blah blah! i'm very fast indeed on cubase. like ali before his head got hit lotsa times.
i'm slower at editing on studio one (except for melodyne where i'm like ali before his head got hit lotsa times. ). is it because studio one is slower or has worse workflow? probably not. more likely that i'm used to cubase.
moral of the story; we get good at using what we own. or we give up and always look for something else to make up for the fact that we can't do it as well as we thought we could and need something to blame!

Yeah i'm with you in this one.
Thing is, only few people really master Cubase and its gazillion sick features. When you're one of them, congrats!
I mastered Studio One in a matter of some hours.
Before i had StudioOne i had Cubase 6, which i bought because i knew it's the most complete DAW on the planet. After months of studying the Manual, hours of Tutorial videos, i was still too dumb to finish a song. Then i demoed StudioOne, and wrote a new song, recorded and mixed it in just an hour. I was stunned, and sold Cubase.

So, which one is better? The one you master.
For me, i never looked back, and i really like how things develop with StudioOne.
Pre-Sales Questions » Does anyone know what the heck is going on with Presonus software pricing?????? » Go to message
As far as i remember, Studio One is the only DAW i know with so much sales in a year. Be patient, you should get your deal soon.

I got to bump this. I'm watching it now. Wow, what a series it has been! The recording seasons were already unreal. The mixing sessions were very good, and now the mastering. What a treat. I can watch these all day long.
Not only Terence and friends will have some boost on their record sales, but for us users and musicians, it's been such a great experience.

Thank you presonus for making this possible. You guys combined web 2.0 with real good music with lot of humour and tons of informations. I will keep coming again and again to watch them.

Let's lighten up the mood a tiny bit. I woke up in a somewhat silly mood this morning and grabbed Camtasia and 2.5...

LOOOL Good stuff LMike! Preonus should make it public on their blog.

Don't forget to try and make new presets first, before judging the overhaul.

Yes, this is already confirmed by other users in german forum.
Try to turn your signal up, that it hit the amp louder is my guess.
I think they made new models or new cabs with another dynamic behaviour.

When you can't get the same sound try to rollback first.

I already mentioned it in another thread:

Stem Export for channels now renders all channels simultaneously (previously, this rendered the channels consecutively).
Continuous clipping warnings (including dB readout) no longer cancel export.
Export warnings dialog (with options) after mixdown/stem export.

I just tried it out. Yes! Exporting stems now is done simultaneously! I hated doing it because it could take an hour if you have tons of channels. Now it only take so much time like a normal mixdown. And no cancelling either!
Huge thanks for this.

Thank you very much Ari and all guys from Hamburg team. You guys always deliver!

Still, StudioOne has the best mixer of all DAWs (for me). Add the better color schemes, and some neat features from Protools like enabling/disabling FXs in a row across channels, or disable all FXs, and a pop-up fader, and it would be unbeatable.

Just found this on the list:
"Stem Export for channels now renders all
channels simultaneously (previously, this
rendered the channels consecutively)."

Great! As a heavy Nebula VST user i like to render tracks and this would increase my workflow alot! (I hope that the rendering would go faster though) Clippings won't stop the rendering process also. Thanks for this one!

It's not online yet. Just like 519tbarr said, it's dated for tomorrow. We should just wait.

Now to the updates:
First off: Thank you presonus team for your hard work, and for making this 2.5 update free for us.

Second: I won't be surprised if some folks will be disappointed with the release. On the other hand, maybe it was not the best idea to make a very little preview of the release months before it, and said 'more than 100 changes'. Because it will make people crazy, and expectations can go very high.

I'm happy with Studio One already, and I really like the release, especially the improvements on Comping, Automation, Bus-record, Dry/Wet knob on the stock plugins (really needed this on RedLight), and the unexpected Softube Saturation Knob, which will come very handy.

However, i'm a bit disappointed that 2.5 (still) lacks a proper Mackie controller support (i'm quite sure this was promised, don't know where i've read it though). And i'm still hoping that these updates will still come before 3.0:
- Ability to save every setting on a channel
- Ability to colour whole channels like protools.

But to be fair, it's already a heck of a DAW already, and it just got much better with this update. They stayed true to their concept to not bloat the DAW, which is the best way.

Studio One General Discussion » Addictive Drummer vs. Superior Drummer 2.0 » Go to message
I have Steven Slate Drums 4 and Addictive Drums. For Rock, there's nothing better soundwise than SSD4, however, it needs more work and GUI handling is by far not as nice as AD.
I wish i could have SSD4's sound combined with AD's GUI.
You've made a good choice with AD though. Check out the Funk and Indie kits, those are the fattest ones.

Right now the launch date for 2.5 is the first week of December.

Yay! Please no delay presonus. It will be an exciting month!
