Wow, I thought it was About $300 for the instrument expansion Pack, because one instrument like Strike was $200. For I think $299, you get the whole pack. It was $99 more. Still a great deal. That's what I briefly caught on the A.I.R. website for the current instrument pack. hey probably haven't updated the NAMM info just yet, you mention. If you saw the $200 for everything, that's great, and I'll have to look into it. I'll read these threads and links later.

Anyway guys, thanks for the info and don't sweat the details.
If this package is $200, it's pretty hard to turn away. even if I have an iLok shackled to my ankles.

$200, I am in.

You're right that $299 is the price for new customers and $99 for the upgrade. I accidentaly typed $199; my apologies. Still a great deal

mistere wrote:#1) I never discussed whether the price was a good value or not.

I never said you did.

#2) Russ Hughes was in fact not thrilled with the way things went, but he and "the folks at PT Expert" who AIR pays to advertise with and have to be diplomatic are not who I was talking about -- I was talking about the forum members who by any measure was extremely up in arms.

To imply that Russ and PTE are partisan based on ad revenue is a pretty low blow. You should aim a little higher next time.

#3) I did name my sources and stand by them. I'm not going to search for list all the threads because I have more constructive things to do and I am not plunking down my $199. But if I was thinking about it, I'd look at those.

Citing your source as the entire PTE and DUC websites is not a valid means of support your arguements. Specifics are what will lend credibility to your statements. Asking the reader to search for themselves is simply lazy and unsubstantive.

Are you an S1 customer or an AIR marketing person btw? And since you know so much about the shakeup at AIR, why don't you tell us the real story?

I don't know the whole story, but that's the point, i don't make unsupported claims to that effect.

There are a lot of talented and passionate people at AIR and i've had nothing but great customer service when dealing with them; Russ Hughes and the folks at Pro Tools Expert would agree.

If you're going to create rumour and speculation as to why some people left AIR then name your source otherwise don't sell it as fact.

RTAS (Real Time Audio Suite) is Pro Tools only.

And what Logic likes is AU

Magma is a fantastic plugin; especially with the 1.6 update.

Viruses on Macs are extremely rare. They are, however, susceptible to Trojan Horses and other malware!

Antivirus software for macs, in this context, is absolutely unnecessary. In the last 20 years the total number of viruses on macs were under 100 and all were before the advent of OSX.

Yes it does. I've felt that way at times too.

Yeah i agree that you only get from it what you put into it.

I like how those who are against the use of loops in productions always do it in a very smug and dismissive manner.

I like how the people who use them are in denial lol. Look, if you are going to use a loop and change it all around so nobody can tell you used a loop, why not make your own in the first place?

It's all about being creative; no matter the medium or method.

Why don't you challenge yourself with taking a stock loop and doing something completely unique and original with it. You might be surprised at the outcome.

How about having Presonus work on Studio One instead.
