Studio One Forum Community Support » Help removing guitar bleed into vocals! » Go to message
Unless the bleed is completely unworkable - I would just "let it bleed".

Even with today's magic tools (ie: Melodyne) there will be artifacts when it's severe. Check out this Melodyne video where they remove the guitar from Adele's "rolling in the deep". Not bad - but far from perfect.

Yes... Rubber knobs with a soft click would have been much nicer...

Your right, and IIRC they started back in 2011 and we still don't have it.
I'm just trying to make sure Presonus doesn't forget about it
Studio One General Discussion » Channel Insert On/Off - Keyboard Shortcut and/or Control Link » Go to message
Thanks Matt. That's what I figured.

I haven't been able to find it there which is why I came to the forums. I was hoping that maybe it was there hiding under an odd name or title. I find it odd that it's not part of the mapping system in any way.
Studio One General Discussion » Submitted Activation Product Key for Studio One Artist, but Studio One Free is What Downloaded » Go to message
As already stated - the installer is the same for all versions. The file you downloaded is not the problem.
Did you create a license file? If not - I think Studio One would just run in FREE MODE. That's likely what you are seeing.

1: From the top menu in Studio One, click on "Studio One > Studio One Activation".
2: Now click on "Activate or Upgrade".
3: Now choose your choice of activation and follow the appropriate steps.

Studio One General Discussion » Channel Insert On/Off - Keyboard Shortcut and/or Control Link » Go to message
I am trying to create a shortcut key for the channel insert On/Off, similar to Mute, Arm, Solo, etc...

There doesn't seem to be a way to map it. Not to mention - it also doesn't seem to connect to "Control Link" in any way.
Am I missing something... or is that the way it is?
Studio One Feature Requests » Global FX On/Off » Go to message
I know this has been brought up before, but I would love to see a Global ON/OFF for ALL effects.

Also - I see there is no way to link the channel "insert on/off" to control link in any way. I'd love to be able to map this to my controllers. Actually - there doesn't even seem to be a way to map this to a keyboard shortcut.

There is a setting in preferences to "Release Audio Device in Background".

There you go. I've never needed it myself, but I think the OP could certainly benefit from it.
Studio One Forum Community Support » Studio One Pro 2.6 won't recognise my Focusrite Scarlett Plugin Suite [SOLVED] » Go to message

1: Make sure Studio One is scanning the VST folder you installed the scarlet plugins to. This is somewhere in the options menu - but I use Artist so I can't direct you to the exact location (I can't load external VST's).

2: As "matthewgorman" says - make sure you are running the correct version of Studio One. 32 Bit Studio One can only load a 32 bit plugin. 64 bit Studio One can only load a 64 bit plugin.

The problem will likely be one of those two ....

JoseDrums wrote:OMG why has no one resolved this problem! This is insane. What is the point of using S1 if exporting **** up the whole thing.

With all due respect, you already have a thread regarding this and you have confirmed the problem exists with "Another DAW" as well. That indicates your problem is NOT a Studio One problem so your comment appears to be very unfair.

I have provided a few answers and asked a few questions in your thread that have gone "un answered" by you. If you can answer/confirm some of my questions, I will be happy to help you isolate the problem.

But if i may politely ask... why are you recording a mix from Studio One into Audacity? Wouldn't it be faster and easier to render the mix in Studio one and (assuming you want to edit in in Audacity), just import it it?

^^^^ This

As for why audacity can record Windows sounds and not Studio One - it is because Audicity is recording from the signal from Windows Audio. Studio One bypasses that and speaks directly to the audio interface.

johnbogis wrote:Audacity says "Error while opening sound device. Please check the input device settings and the project sample rate." I think I have both set to 44.1 khz, 16 bit. Thanks for any help.

Studio One is going to "take control" of the audio device. Some DAWS have a "share audio device" type check box, but I'm not sure if Studio One does.

JoseDrums wrote:Wait so say it was a problem with my WMP or VLC. Wouldn't other people's tracks also sound as weird when played through?

No, people will not all have this problem. It completely depends on how you have your software setup.

JoseDrums wrote:
Also I run the audio straight through the tape in of my mixer so no effects are applied.

As I said earlier - if every one of your media players sounds "wrong", then it likely isn't the media player setting (unless you set every one of them with the same EQ settings). It is likely the Windows Audio settings. DAWS do not go through Windows Audio, but Windows Media, iTunes and VLC do.

AUDIO INTERFACE

1: If you have a Studio LIve can I assume you use that as the audio interface for your DAW?
2: If you run your windows audio into the "tape input" of the Studio Live - does that mean you are using the build in audio card for your Windows sounds (including Windows Media Player, iTunes, etc...)?

If so - that could be the difference. Quality (Studio Live) vs non-quality ($14.99 sound card build into a computer).
You are not listening to the song on equal setups - therefore they really cannot be compared.

Studio One Forum Community Support » Mixdown completely different from sound in project page... » Go to message
1: Studio One (or any other DAW for that matter) talks directly to the audio interface using the ASIO drivers.

2: Your programs such as Windows Media, iTunes, etc... all go through the Windows Audio system before reaching the sound card.

Since all of your "listening" programs sound the same - then look into the Windows Audio System for the answer. It could be routing, an eq in the chain, loop backs (causing phase issues), etc... etc...

Assuming Windows 7 or Windows 8

Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Sound
Or right click on the speaker near the clock and choose "Playback Devices"
Studio One Forum Community Support » Mixdown completely different from sound in project page... » Go to message
Is this problem occurring from the PROJECT PAGE (Mastering), or from the mixdown of a song.

I use Aritst so I don't have the Project option but I am sure I just saw a thread recently about the Project Page not always rendering the effects. I will have to take a look for that thread.
