I downloaded the uc software from my hardware section of the presonus site rebooted , hooked up mixer the found new hardware wizard did not run , went to device manager it is showing the mixer with a yellow question mark says no drivers uninstalled reinstalled , ran trouble shooter etc. it shows the mixer hooked up to the firewwire card ( checked the list to make sure I bought the correct card ) no drivers found for mixer HELP ! thanks Dave all fixed the driver for the firewire card had to be lagacy !
Imy understanding is that 2 16.4.2ai's can't be daisy chained ? but I read that it will be possible in the future can a presonus mediator confirm or coment please . in my case I was able to afford the 16 channel but in the very near future will be needing more channels and don't want to loose money selling an almost new board to trade up to a 24 or 36 channel so adding a 2nd 16 is most economical ! thanks for ant input Dave
hey guys and gails I need opinions I'm going to buy a studiolive just for recording in my home studio will never leave the house . are the new features in the AI series board worth yhe exstra cash ? I'm sure a lot of you bought the 1st one then upgraded ? so have some side by side exsperience to share , my main concerns are , latency for monitoring , quality of the signal, heard the new pres. were a bit better and the a/d converters ? any thoughts would be MUCH appreciated ! thanks Dave
do I have transfer registration of my firestudio tube & firestudio project when I sell them ? or do I just cancel my registration so new owner can register them etc. want to move to a studiolive & would like to get all ducks in a row any help would be much appreciated thanks Dave

update I got the 2.5.1 upedate loaded last nite and dropped my buffer to 128 with 10 tracks recording , a couple uad instances running , a couple native plugins on each track , set up a loop and recorded over & over for about 20 mins . no drop outs no cpu spikes the cpu monitor showed about 25-35 % usage on the average . will copy and paste all my tracks with events tonite and try again and see how it does ! happy so far Dave
hey guys I have had this same message Dropouts occurred during record. The drive used for recording might not be fast enough., I have a f/sproject & f/s tube have had no issues at all untill last week I screwed up trying to down load the softube freebie and somehow crashed my system & so started from scratch spent the weekend reloading everything , now if I have amore than 1 insyance of something from my uad card running it stops recording & I get that message playback seems ok , cpu is spiking and have to leave the buffers set at 512 , which as you know creates a latency issue if you are trying to add a new track ! so that means if I want to add a track I have to change buffer size and turn off any powered plugs that are running! didn't have to do that before ? is there an issue in the 2.5 version ? anybody have any answers seems like a bunch of people are getting this message ? how many are getting this message and not posting it here mmmmmm
one more thing I am kinda confused about I thought the idea behind the uad cards was to take some load off the cpu ? can anyone exsplain about this abit ? I have 2 uad-1 cards in (pci) but the plugs do seem to use a loy more cpu than I thought they would ! thanks Dave
while I'm recording , say adding a new track and only have say 2 uad plugs running I get cpu spikes or dropouts , running xp home . have a quad core cpu good ram , 2 hard drives computer is optimized for recording , using a firestudio project & a f/s tube so can't us zero latencey buttons . I can run tns of tracks and presonus native plugs with no proplem . kinda confused I thought the dsp cards were meant to take the load off of the cpu ? also is more stable at 512 rather than say 128 but then the latencey is noticable when recording . I don't think I had this issue untill I upgraded to studio one v-2 any help also I have 2 uad -1 cards & have updated all drivers etc. I know the obvious is turn off the uad's and use lowest samples for latencey then change back for mixing ! just didn't have to do this before ! thanks in advance Dave
I wasn't sure were to post this question but I just picked up a couple mxl r144 ribbon mics and was wondering if anyone has used these with a fs project or fs tube ? i was just wondering if I was going to have enough clean gain without buying someother pres . ? planned on using the mics for drum oh's thanks to any info in advance Dave
anybody answer this I was trying some tips on optimizing my win xp for recording & did something wrong <, long story short I had to reload a clean copy of xp the repair option wouldn't work , didn't relize it would wipe my computer clean does anyone know if I have to use up another activation code ? or is there a way around it .? thsnkd in advance Dave
