I don't think anyone else has mentioned this yet.

I've encountered intermittent issues with the metering in the mastering (Project) screen set. The RTA frequency meters are inconsistent. Sometime they won't work at all, sometimes they will draw way too slow, and sometimes they will be completely erratic. I don't know how else to describe it other than that.

Hey everyone. I took an song from my old band's 2008 album and remixed it recently using Studio One. I primarily only used Solid State Logic's Duende Native Channel Strip and Bus Compressor plugins to do the whole mix, save for a few other plugins here and there. Originally recorded with a combination of different interfaces at different times including MOTU, M-Audio, and of course Presonus. Currently have the Studiolive 16.4.2.

All of the current Macs except the Mac Pro have Thunderbolt now. Macbook Pro, Macbook Air, Mac Mini, and iMac all have it.

Belkin had announced back in September a Thunderbolt expansion hub that gave additional Firewire 800, USB 2.0, Ethernet, and Thunderbolt ports. Haven't heard anything about it since though. That would be absolutely perfect for me since I could use my Macbook's built in Firewire port for my StudioLive 16.4.2 and my Firewire 800 Hard Drive on the extra port in the hub.

Our lead software designer is using 2 thunderbolt displays with his Macbook Pro for a Dual monitor setup (with the MB Pro sitting in an aluminum cradle). As far as I can tell, its the wave of the future! (he certainly believes in it).

that said, we do have to wait for the technology to "pan out" a bit before designing devices around it. PC's will need to be onboard with the technology for it to truly be viable.

My .02

But when it does become viable, it's going to be f***king awesome. I just ordered a new Macbook Pro and I can't wait.

I didn't sign any kind of NDA for this Beta. There really aren't many changes for the new version with the exception of adding RTAS support which they've already announced to the public. I'm sure they've done some additional optimization as well. I've demoed these plugins before and they seem to be functionally identical.

I'm currently one of the Beta testers for SSL's Duende Native version 4 plugins.

So far, I've run them as AU, VST, and VST3 in Studio One 1.6.5 and have run into zero issues. Studio One recognized them immediately and they are working flawlessly with Lion 10.7.2.

While everyone else is posting bugs with Logic and Pro Tools, I'm sittin' pretty

Actually, the 800 connector feels extremely solid to me. I bought a really simple Belkin 400 - 800 cable and haven't had any problems with it at all. The 800 side feels way more secure than any 400 I've ever used.

If you didn't know already, Belkin has a Thunderbolt Express dock coming out that gives a whole slew of I/O including Firewire. Check it out - http://www.macrumors.com/2011/09/13/belkin-shows-off-upcoming-thunderbolt-express-dock/

Current Macbook Pro's DO have a Firewire port. It's a Firewire 800. You just need a simple 400 (6-pin) to 800 (9-pin) cable.
