It has nothing to do with the midi inputs but how to route the audio outputs from Kontakt software to Capture software inputs via the firewire connection through the mixer back to outputs on the mixer

I read somewhere that it was possible to use the inserts if you put the cable halfway till it clicked in as direct outs and if so, you could
cable to two other channels and disarm the 15/16 ones in Capture I think. It could be that they need to be all the way in haven't tried that myself
though..
Just be careful and check it out if it is true or not. Guess Im guessing or ranting..

Why are you using it as Standalone ? Memory ?

Yes but to do that you need to use a DAW program as Capture is only to record or playback with and does'nt support plugins and such by it self.

Could it be that you have the firewire button engaged by chance?.
If so then you send and don't record I think.

I Think it would be great to get some more facts on the table regarding how did you route the outputs from Kontakt 4 to the Mixer ?
Also what inputs are you using on the Mixer and how ?
I guess its easier to help if you say what you did that did'nt work.

I'll just used it to check my mixes and mastering on projects with Beyer Dynamics DT-880's and I own KRK Rokit 6 and know the sound of Genelec 1031's and KRK VTX and at least the Rokit is spot on as I could sit and take them on and off (the headphones) and get same sound from both.
I think its a great tool to check against different speakers as I can't afford NS -10's yet and Genelec...

Im happy to hear that it worked out for you.
For me it has been working almost all the time and what you read here in the forum is often the bad stories.
Then again this is why this forum is here, to help each other if problems arise I think.
Its a very small percentage with problems I guess and sometimes it seems as its bigger as you dont hear the good stories.
When everything is working we do stuff, and then there is nothing to complain about exept ourselves

I think that nowhere in the soundcard/mixer world do we get same kind of dedication as here.

Thanks Jonathan, it will ease my waiting and by the way S1pro is great with 24.4.2 too (pun)
But post-production/mastering is easier with proper tools and 24sl is a mixer.
Matrix is nice, SSL too but I bet you guys have an ace in your sleeve on that.

I would love to get my Mackie Control to work proper . As of now the record button is not working ( in Cubase 6, Pro tools 8, Logic express 9 no problem)
That would be cool if you guys fixed that. If there was a development of a controller with 16 motorized faders I would buy the moment it came out if the price was right. I loved the Faderport when it came out but had to swich to Mackie to get more faders (I know that I can buy Extenders)
Anyway with 16 I'll consider it ultimate
