I can't believe in 2014 this still isn't an option - i have to double dip and use Audition to convert them over - one of my clients wondered why I was sending stereo files to her, and I said I wasn't……hmmm - Cubase you're looking good again.
So, I'm trying to emulate Cubase 7's ability to assign things to keyboard shortcuts, and trying my hardest to see if I can assign "Fade-In" and "Fade-Out" handles to keys (as I have done on C7) - I can't seem to find the option to assign them in the S1 list.
Also, when I export a file and keep the same name it makes (1), (2) versions which isn't bad but is there an option to turn that off and just overwrite (with a dialogue) ? Also, the export window isn't big and long file names seem to disappear in the filename box - unless that's changed (I'm still on 2.6.0)
I am currently on Cubase 7 (have been with it since 4) but have since started exploring S1 and it looks like it can do pretty much everything Cubase can - bar one thing….marker lists.
Cubase has Command-M on a Mac which will bring up a master list of markers - numbers, in points, name - which is ideal for us as we do a lot of long form narration and often have to mark different points/modules/tracks.
I know S1 has markers but there's no easy way I can see of looking at them all in one list - and if it's a big job I don't want to hunt for them.
Can you please look at bringing this in for the next point release ?
I use markers not for any musical reason - more for indexing reasons when coming back to a long narration job - I'd rather not have to hunt through each marker, instead a list like shows on Cubase. Bugger.
At the moment I'm using Cubase 7 (and have been for a few years) - but I'm very keen to move to S1 and most of the functions can be replicated on it - the one thing I can't see (or it doesn't exist yet) is a list of markers. I know you can save them and name them, which is a godsend, but I'd like a screen that I can open individually (aka Cubase, Audition) that lists them and lets me go to whichever one I need.
The reason for this is that I record voice overs daily, often with up to 100 screens, and I'd like to be able to go back to one without hunting for it if I have to do a retake, etc.
