Studio One General Discussion » Huge Latency Using Firestudio Project with Reaper » Go to message
Hello. Well, I've been using SA One/2 with virtually no latency. I wanted to work on a little project with Reaper as I know it better and just wanted to to a quick demo. However I have such a huge delay when playing to the first track recorded that I'm forced to record with input monitoring disable, whats up? I've scoured the Internet to unravel the latency issue and I'm stuck. I can't nor do I want to use SA One/2 all the time. Especially since I have not upgraded and can't use VST's, etc. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks.
Studio One General Discussion » Kontact-CPU Usage Heavy » Go to message
Hello
Just started working with Studio One2. Things were going well until I started hearing clicking in the mix last night. Not much running other then One instance of Kontact, for a simple drum part, one guitar track and one vocal track. One instance of impact for a bass line. The clicking was not there initially, but is quite apparent now. I looked at the CPU usage an Kontact was very high, causing the red peak light to activate constantly. Turning off that Kontact track and the clicking is gone. Any thoughts? running a MacBook Pro, (6 months old) 4 gigs of ram (ram usage for the software very low). Recording to an external USB 3.0 drive. Thanks.

quite new to the software, but really digging it. (coming over from reaper, which i do think is also quite good and this aspect of reaper was a no brainer.) not so in S1v2.

I added a generic keyboard, send to Oxygen/from Oxygen. No knobs show up, and what about the faders on the Oxygen, how to I incorporate them?
Studio One General Discussion » Midi Learn: Not in my Interface! » Go to message
Hello, I'm a little miffed, there is no Midi Learn button when I click on External Device>Oxygen. When I click on Oxygen I get the Device Control Map, yet the Midi Learn Button spoken of in all the manuals is not there.
So I'm miffed!

Problem solved, it was the firewire cable. Picked up another cable and and I'm connected. Had an anomaly: Everyone played back in mono, including iTunes. then I opened up the Universal Control Panel, switched back to Studio One/Itunes and stereo had returned. I do not know why it was mono, or why this fixed it.

I'm trying to get the Firestudio Project online. Absolutely no luck at all.

Hello, this is insanity! I was up and running so quickly with the Audiobox. ARG. I'm trying to get rid of any trace of "that" install, tedious. I checked the sound control panel, it's not there. Built in sound and HDMI when that cable is connected. Zapping the Pram? I have not done that since 1990 on my Iici.

I'll keep trying, thanks.

Hello, I just swapped for the Firestudio Project. Not working at all with my Macbook Pro/Studio One V2. Maybe an issue that the AudioBox drivers/software are still on my machine? don't see an Uninstaller. I was rocking the Audiobox/Studio One set up within minutes, now, I'm dead in the water. Help!

Can not get FS Project working. I borrowed a Firewire cable (needed the 9 pin to 6 pin) to connect my new FS Project to my MacBook Pro, unit front panel light remains red, Studio One Artist does not see the unit. When I turn it on it's starts red, flashes blue for a sec, the preamp LED's flash once and the indicator stays red.

It's funny, I set up the AudioBox VSL 44 and within in minutes I was recording. I was so happy with the product that I went back and swapped for the FSProject so I would have all the extra inputs, and all hell has broken loose. Studio One started crashing. I downloaded the latest Universal Control and the crashing stopped. Still have red light only, I'm bummed! Studio One does not no the unit is connected. Universal Control does not indicate it can see it. If I had another cable I would try that but everything here is closed today due to the snow. radio shack carries the cable, 2 minutes from my home!

Any thoughts, may not be the cable?

Yeah I need the 400/800 cable. Just a little bummed. Thanks for the reply.

brianmbremer wrote:It doesn't fit at all or it's just a tight/loose fit? Does your Mac have a FireWire port? If so, it's probably FireWire 800:

The FireStudio Project is FireWire 400:

If your Mac has a FireWire port, you just need the right cable. A FireWire400-to-FireWire800 cable should do it. If it has a Thunderbolt port, there is an adapter for that.

...or is there some performance concern?

Hello, anyone else have this issue? Just got my FireStudio Project, the firewire cable is a poor match for my MacBook. Pretty shocked. I was so stoked about how well the AudioBox VSL 44 worked (USB) that I went back and swapped for the FireStudio Project. Now I'm dead in the water.
