Studio One Forum Community Support » During startup, audiobox won't recognize AVID driver » Go to message
Hello, I am looking for help. I've been recording music consistently for the past 6 months, and now all of a sudden my audiobox seems to have difficulties. When I startup the presonus program, a sign pops up that reads "AVID driver cannot be initialized." If anyone has any clue to what might be causing this, please comment below. Open to any and all suggestions.

Thank you!

AudioBox USB » Audiobox USB Problems(PLEASE HELP!) » Go to message
About 6 months ago, i purhcased an audiobox usb bundle from my local Guitar Center. Ever since then, I have had nothing but problems. The most recent problem are;
-everytime I plug in my audiobox into my computer it starts producing a popping or clicking noise through my headphones
-cant hear the beat through my headphones(recent problem that started after the clicking noise)
-cant hear my voice through my headphones

When I first started recording, I had very basic equipment(small desk stand, no foam guard, no pop filter.) After I would record, my voice would sound muffled and low. Since then I have upgraded my equipment a bit(bought a foam guard, mic stand, and pop filter), and it hasn't helped whatsoever. In fact, IT SOUNDS WORSE. I can hardly hear my voice unless I amplify the hell out of it.

NOT TO MENTION, i can't even use the Presonus software that came in my bundle to record. For now I'm using Cool Edit Pro 2.1, because everytime I press 'record' on the software it begins making a very loud ringing noise.

I'm a bit lost and hopeless on what to do, i would appreciate it if somebody could give me some guidance on how to fix this issue.

Also, I must add that I haven't heard the high-pitch tone coming through my computer speakers either.

Okay, so I've made some progress in fixing this problem I feel like. I turned on the right set of speakers on my computer thus creating noise through my headphones. What I don't understand is, my mic levels are about 75% full and I still can't hear my voice when I replay the track. It shows a small amount of waves when I record into the mic, but still isn't playing loud enough.

I also watched various videos and adjusted all of my knobs on my interface. I've tried to click all of the right buttons that the tutorials told me to but I still am yet to find a solution.

Thank you for all of your feedback, Please help me figure out what is wrong here!

I really don't know all that much about this microphone. It says on the front of it that it's a Presonus M7. I purchased it as a package including my audiobox usb. Most of the time I can't even get it to make sound, but when it does it's a constant pitching noise that doesnt stop until I close the program. The sound is coming directly from my computer. Im not too sure about how to tell whether my cable is balanced or unbalanced.

After months of hassling with my Audiobox USB, i finally got my interface to install. The new problem that I am faced with, is that my microphone record my voice, and when it does, it makes a very high pitch noise like it's resonating. I'm very new to all of this, and am seeking some advice and tips that I may be able to apply to stop this from happening. Thank you all, feel free to PM me.

I finally got my Audiobox USB to work after 2 weeks of hassling. I found out that the USB connector cable that I was given was faulty. The problem I am now faced with, is my microphone. When I go to record tracks the Mic is making a high-pitch noise, almost like it's resonating. If any of you could give me suggestions to this problem it would greatly appreciated!

I recently got a new laptop(Dell Inspiron) and an Audibox USB bundle for Christmas. I installed all of the Presonus software perfectly fine, but when I go to install the Audiobox driver it fails everytime. I put the CD in that originally came with it, and start the installation process, but everytime it gets close to the end of finishing it tells me that I need to plug in the Audiobox USB. Yet, everytime I connect the Audibox to my USB port, a message pops up on my screen saying that the device is unrecognizable. This is getting very frustrating because this is a brand new laptop. Im not very technologically advanced whatsoever, so if I could receive some clear help that would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you.
