Should read things properly, DOH, Glad you're up and running, it never hurts to check though so the above may be of use to you still.

Hi,

The usual advice, check with the OCHI tool for fire wire issues, read through http://forumsarchive.presonus.com/posts/list/3535.page for tips to make your PC play nicely with your FSM. I.m not a W8 bloke so can't advise you there other than to say I read several threads that noted issues with it and fire wire interfaces, I don't think any were terminal so do a search of the forum for W8 issues.

Hope that helps, let us know how it goes.

PS get everything playing together with just UC before you open any DAW as having too much open can muddy the waters with fault finding. Once you know it's working alright in UC, bring on the DAW, if the problem reoccurs it's likely to be a DAW setting rather than an interface issue.

Hi,

Use the OCHI tool, the 0.0.0.0 if I remember correctly is usually a firewire issue.
There's some useful advice in this thread for getting everything playing nicely together.

Hi,
The FS 2626 is no longer a supported piece of kit, it is however still very capable. The support stopped with UC1.2 if you're on PC although there was a further upgrade in the Mac camp. Go to discontinued equipment on the website and select FS 2626 you'll find the working version of UC in the downloads section along with the release notes manuals etc. Your project will run on the older version of UC if you need all of the I/O so you should be good to go. There is a very handy thread compiled by Monolithent if you have problems with the unit still after the back date of UC.

Have had this problem myself, just need to trawl through my memory to recall what I did. It is a setting issue if I remember right. Try leaving S1 out of the equation for a minute, fire up the FS and double check the UC matrix, check the output routing etc and make sure everything is working as a stand alone device. Once youre happy with that set up then fire up S1 and set that as you want, I think my issue was solved in the UC stage of that process.

PS Have a look through http://forumsarchive.presonus.com/posts/list/3535.page too, there were a few things I had to do with W7 to make it play nice.

You don't have to spend a fortune on an express card just find one with a TI XIO2200 chipset, that will work fine.

Do you have an express slot in your computer? If so go to the link above and you should be good to go. In terms of the Firebox question, I'm not sure, I seem to remember that the Firebox didn't use UC so it's not a given that it'll work if the FSM does. You would need to install the drivers for it, it is also dependant on the OS you are using.

Use the return inputs on the rear of your FSP they are designed to accept inputs that don't require pre amplification ie have a higher input signal strength. You will lose the front inputs 1&2 while connected at the back. Page 36 of 41 (pdf) in your manual

Firestudio - Legacy » Connecting Lightpipe with focusrite preamps and 2 firestudio project? » Go to message
Hi Marcos, the limit on chaining FS is 52 input and 52 output, the lightpipe is 32/32 and the project is 10/10 so in theory 1 x lightpipe + 2 x project should be fine. The focusrite preamps connected to the light pipe should also be fine.

I'm not sure if this is possible, but would suggest that you follow the instructions in the manual to connect a digimax. It's so long since I did it I can't remember what I had to do. I know I didn't have any issues, and it just fires up whenever I switch it on if I need more inputs. As you are just wanting extra pre's, I would hope that the alternative recording method shouldn't matter.

Not sure on this but can you not record via S1 and convert to capture/export to capture? If you want to use tracks already recorded in Capture, I assume you would import to S1 and add extra from the FSM in S1. It possibly raises the question of chaining the mobile to your SL it may work that way. I don't have an SL to try it out so I'd be interested to know.

Dave here's a link to a forum post on monitoring via spidif http://forumsarchive.presonus.com/posts/list/10740.page#71511 that should get you going. Zero latency is a Studio 1 thing so have a read through your manual for S1 and you'll see how it's done, it's relatively simple but I'm not sure if it works for all inputs on daisy chained units.

Hi, have you familiarised yourself with the FS2626 on it's own with just Universal Control? Read the manual, it may sound obvious, but the 2626 can do a lot of things, and once you're familiar with it, operating through any DAW should be less confusing. It sounds to me as if you have a routing issue rather than anything else, but without knowing what else you're running ie PC/Mac operating system etc it's hard to say.
Put a signature together that lists your equipment and software, it helps in getting through to your problem if/when it occurs.
Have you run OCHI test? Is the unit sync'ed with you machine?

Let us know

I take it you have tried setting up zero latency in S1?
