could the issue be as simple to fix as putting on new strings?
Studio One Feature Requests » FR: Half Time / Double Time checkbox on Metronome setup dialog » Go to message
just change the time signature. instead of a 4/4, make it a 4/8 to double, or 4/2 to half the tempo. the accent click will move a bit by doing this and could cause issues, but this will essentially do what youre asking

the only connection that will eliminate the ground loop problem is fiber optic. even though the signal is digital passing through hdmi, there is still a hard electrical connection there. most (decent) cards should have the optical output you will need.

youll have to automate them separately, but yeah it can be done.

tacman is right, although ive found a workaround for this if its all audio that youre trying to pitchbend. select the region that you want to pitch and bounce it down to a new stereo track. from there, you can put this mixed-down sample into Sample One, and then automate the pitch wheel in sample one. make sense? basically, you need to convert a portion of your song to MIDI, then you can manipulate it the way you want.

i sure dont blame him for being pissed off. that sucks that the engineer wasnt mixing from an unbiased, objective point of view. thats a serious mistake in my opinion. (maybe playing a ton of instruments myself keeps me in check haha)

thanks matthew.. i hadnt thought if him trying to get credit... i actually just heard the final product yesterday and its just what i thought it would be. SUPER smashed, MEGA compressed and ULTRA limited. and not well either. you can actually hear the mix pumping. needless to say, as long as the band likes it, i just dont fuckin care anymore. i know exactly who i wont send work to in the future. thanks for taking the time to listen, it was a serious shock to the system having to send extra stuff, and its nice to know that my work wasnt the issue. I seriously hope nobody else has their hard work undermined by a "holier than thou, top of the audio food-chain" mastering engineer. JUST SAY NO TO SHITTY MASTERS!!!

yep those are his parts. it starts with my mix first. then a,b,a,b... yep, lots of mids, no low end, and tons of 'verb. wht the hell?? at least ive had a few beers today to numb the pain of a good project gone bad. cheers!

they should be shielded well enough as not to harm the computer. i think most monitor manufacturing companies have engineered their products knowing that theyre probably gonna be sitting next to at the very least, a computer monitor.. you should be just fine.

thanks for getting back to me guys.. ive decided to send the stems to him, (kicking and screaming by the way.) i had to completely empty my dropbox account to make room, so i had to delete that comparison track i posted. ill get it back up here in a bit for you guys. i learned a lot dealing with this guy. im by no means a mastering expert, but after the original stero mix, a sub-mix, and now the actual stems have been added one on top of another, what are the odds that all the low-end loss is simply phase related?? on the bright side, i havent given him any money whatsoever. being a small time operation, i left it in the bands hands after tracking to get it mastered. their record label insisted on this guy, so my hands were pretty tied. If the end product is complete shit, ill pull my name from the project. i think whatever good things could have come from doing all of this right, and getting my name out there will be damaged to a larger degree with the product i believe he will end up with. i am keeping my chin up in the mean time hoping that he ends up with something worth listening to. anyways.. heres the link to my original mix side by side with the "mastered" audio. a-b-a-b- and so on.. p.s. why did he load the tracks up with reverb to gain "clarity"??? this guy blows my mind...

i think thats exactly the problem here. the guy generally doesnt understand the scope of his job....i gave the band this analogy--- "ok, we just finished tracking everything, but im gonna bring in some studio musicians to re-track a few things" you think they would be offended?? thats exactly whats happening here. lesson learned i guess... ill wait to hear the final versions before i decide whether or not to take my name off the project.. really disappointed. oh well..

im definitely adding some clauses to my contracts... i have veto power over any mastering i dont think is up to par. "if i can do a better job myself, we sure as hell wont use that guy" fair enough right?

thanks for the support guys. this just really bums me out as fist of all, i dont trust this guy to release a good product, and second, this was supposed to be a big release for my studio. im not sure i want to put my name on it anymore... certainly in a bind.
