If possible re record the vocal
What ever frequency you cut you are affecting the vocal

Just got the Universal Audio UAD2 Satellite ultimate $1500
awesome plugins, specially the Ocean Way studios and the ATR 124 mattering tape

this package comes with a bundle of good plugins and lets you select any 3 plugins

depending on what you select you can get up to $ 1150 in plugins so its really worth it

of course since they let you demo any plugin for 14 days its hard not to buy more and more .....

How do I (You fill in the blank)? » thunderbolt to firewire » Go to message
The thunderbolt to firewire is just a adapter that connects in to the thunderbolt port and gives you firewire connectivity
All you need is a regular firewire 800 to 400 cable

kingrazor wrote:Since the SL24 has 10 AUX outputs in addition to the main outs, how are you guys getting all of that to the stage? Or are you?

I haven't found any analog snakes that have 12 TRS returns. Let alone 16 for the SL32.

I sold my SL about 6 months ago I had a custom made 24 x 12 but just saw this online http://www.seismicaudiospeakers.com/24-Channel-Presonus-StudioLive-Compatible-Snakes-p/sapsns-24-3x10x50.htm
StudioLive General Discussion » Smaart Delay wizard using radio mic? » Go to message
Casino_man_dan wrote:Hi Folks,

Planning on using the smaart delay wizard to help set speaker delays (always using 4 delay pairs down a large hall so it would speed things up!).

Just wondering, would this function work properly if using a handheld radio microphone for testing (instead of RTA).

I'm assuming that a flat frequency response microphone isn't critical for this function. Using a handheld radio microphone would be a LOT quicker to move around between each of the delay pairs (as oppose to running meters and meters worth of XLR accross a hall full of people setting up!)

Could anyone confirm this would work - or does t have to be RTA mic?

thanks
dan

you need a flat response calibration Microphone
you can get a wireless transmitter that has phantom and XLR F to attach it to the calibration mic but it will be expensive
i always prefer to roll my cable its cheap and wont take that much of your time

try this if you have the cash

After 5 years working on Mac Pro the hardware becomes unreliable (random switching off) and the new Mac costs too much.

you just described the whole windows environment in one word UNRELIABLE

morrisonsound@mindspring.com wrote:Is it possible to record to 3rd party DAW programs via firewire out in a POST fader POST EFX manner so that the DAW records the gated /compressed/ EQ'ed signal from the mix? Or is the firewire limited to recording just the dry input signal post mic/line trim and pre mixer? Thanks, T

If they make the 32 the same way the 24 is now you can record the or and the wet signal

babs2972 wrote:Hey guys, I was just wondering if anybody uses the DB25 outputs and if so what are some scenario's you use them for? A kid tried to tell me that's how you link SL desks together but that is done with the fire wire correct?

The DB25 outputs are direct outputs pre eq post gain
When I had my SL i always used them either for backup recorder to my faithful ADAT HD24 or if i was recording and using drive rack at the same time this will be my main recording output to the hD24

Today a client requested me to take the audio from a video MP4 file thing that Ive done a lot in S1 pro but haven't done since the last 2.5.2 update and it just simply didn't do it
it asked me if aI wanted to create new tracks and all but in the end didn't create the tracks or added the audio anywhere

I restarted my mac and tried it again with no luck
has this happened to anyone?

Im using Studio One Professional 2.5.2 on a macbook Pro 2.5 I7 with SSD drive and 16 GB ram and Mountain Lion 10.8.4

Brian's IMAC wrote:I've gotta ask if one or the other has a better sound. The X32's XLR only outs will probably steer me toward the SL regardless though. I just need something to integrate seamlessly with S1 that I can also use for live work. Thanks for the earlier reply btw.

the x32 is 50 times a better product
love persons but they didn't evolved the SL series
