If it worked "extremely well", why did you get rid of it?

I still have toshiba laptop laying around, gotta get rid of it asap.

FW never worked, Audio CD sometimes doesn't want to play in the middle of the show.. And I only had it for about a year.

I still use Windows based PC in the studio. But for live Windows is too risky.

I'm not a fan of anything computers, but a lover of Music, I need tools that make my music work not create problems, no matter what it is. for me mac work perfectly and windows-toshiba was a disaster, so i use an old 2006 macbook pro which is about 4 years older than my toshiba..

I know there are people that don't have much to do and they will either praise mac or pc, unfortunately some of them are musicians or sound guys. But, if tomorrow there will be some computer that integrates with audio gear and music better than current macs or windows, i might go with that..

I wanted once to go to Atari for tight midi, because on windows 7, midi out is corrupt, but I abonded external midi gear and use plugins.

How many of you use Snnheisers (or anything else) instead of industry standard Shure for vocalists?
I used to use sm58, 58a and 87a for a long time. (and still use them sometimes whenever using some elses gear which has shures)
I heard about sennehsiers but didn't believe they are that great until I heard e935, e945 and e838.

Now i use e838s or all vocalists, and sm58 pgxd wireless just for speech (because it's digital and most affordable of mediocre wireless systems).

SL version 1.13 I think. I use SL with desktop windows pc in the studio and with a macbook pro in live situations.
(I'll tell more info later because the mixer is there and I'm about to go there in an hour to the sound, no wifi there, I'll post when i come back)

I'm new to mac, but so far my music life is much easier with mac laptop than windows..

today before rehearsal for the performance I connceted SL1642 to macbook pro open UC and the controls were blacked out with a messege "to use these features upgrade you firmware". I clicked upgrade. (no internet connection) The progress bar was stuck at the very end, and a messege "do not disconnect!" still on. I waited about 10 minutes, mixer still working, not locked up or anything, So i had to quit the UC. than restarted UC and than controls were able. than I disconnected firewire cable and reconnected it to see if it will happen again, and again the controls were blacked out with a messege "to use these features upgrade you firmware". I quit and reopned UC and the control were available again.
I don't want to upgrade firmware, because once I did and it was a disaster. with both mac and pc.

ok.. I gave up and got a macbook pro (old version), 3 days ago.
FireWire, SL16.4.2 and Capture work perfectly.

make with a disability to lock up or freeze in the middle of the show like 16 and 24 ch version are capable of

wow, alot of people having so many lock ups/freezing SL's.. Presonus maybe should do a recall ?

I only found that issue in mackie boards, but not in SL, maybe I should have a close listen

24db/oct at least filter would be great, but only if it's not gonna make the rest of the SL firnware unstable

that's a bit strange why they do that, because you can almost do the same with low shelf eq band.

or expresscard.. my laptop is Toshoba L305. I guess it takes both pcmcia and cardbus.

which pcmcia cards are most likely to work with SL?
