Okay so here are all the steps I have taken and my conclusion:
At first I realized my mixdowns sounded different once they left studio one PROJECT page
So I opened up the actual song file and just took the inserts from the Project page and put them in the master bus and exported. I got the same exact result. The mixdown sounded different once it left studio one.
I then took the mixdown that was exported from the Project page and put it directly into a new project page and found that it sounded perfect.
Same thing goes when putting the mixdown into a fresh song page....
Everytime I tested the mixdown I used Itunes, WMP, and VLC Player, all of them replicated the same result. It only sounded different inside S1....
EDIT: Here is something new I tried...
I tried to use Ableton to master. I rendered the mixdown from my song page. So it had no mastering inserts or anything yet.
Put it into Ableton and put the same exact FX chain on the Master channel of Ableton.
THen I Exported.....
The sound also sounded GREAT in Ableton as it did in S1, however, once out side Ableton it sounded different. LIke it did with S1.
Conclusion: There is something wrong with my computer? Or I need to change the export settings?
*Also, when exporting I always use realtime idk if that matters but still...
I can see what you're saying, however I am listening to the mixdown through the same speakers that I was using during the project page. I basically finish editing, mixdown, and playback.
I am also doing everything with real time processing but it doesn't seem to help much.
Anyone know why this is? Inside the project the song sounds crisp and full but when I take it outside the song gets completely messed up? It seems like it bypasses the inserts or messes with them in some sort of way? I don't know.... It seems pretty logical that the sound I would get from playing it through windows media player should sound same or atleast very very similar to that of the sound of the project page?
Hello guys,
I was wondering if it was possible for Presonus to install a fan inside the StudioLive 16.4.2 like there is inside the 16.4.2AI? I ask because my mixer gets severely hot after say 2 hours to the point where I have to turn it off. I already got it fixed after the Gain Reduction got stuck which was the product of overheating.
Considering it's name is Studio"live" it should atleast withstand a solid 2 and half hours of being turned on. Which mine will surely burn out after..
I would install one myself however, that would void the warranty which I still have
Nevermind I figured it out... You have to select the track itself and the inserts will pop up. I'm amazed at how long it took me to figure this out Meh it's 12:30AM too tired to think straight......................
Okay so after experiencing trouble with midi data deleting itself I figured out how to solve that issue, but now a new problem emerged. Everytime I reload the project page it'll delete all the inserts I had when I saved so basically I'm back to square one.
Fantastic.
Can someone please help me solve this issue....
When I click on the Project it says that the devices(Inserts) Are loading....... As shown here
However in the actual page the inserts are gone! As shown below:
Solution: Everytime you copy a midi clip from one track to another. Click on the new copy and hit the G key or right click and merge events. It will change the name of the midi clip to adjust to the track and that will keep it from being deleted. Another thing if you use JBridge and your plugins have ".64 , or .32" Or any dots anywhere make sure to rename your tracks without the periods. Of course, if you do this make sure to merge events on every clip.
Only way I found to solve the issue.
It's crazy. I hope Presonus fixes it for the next update :/
Hello Presonus,
I have a very simple feature request which is to have Automation Points move when dragging folders horizontally. Right now I find myself having to open every folder and make sure that I create a point where the folder begins that way when I highlight everything the points don't get out of sync or left behind. It would help out a lot with the overall workflow.
Thanks!
It is a problem with S1 deleting AND altering files. Mistere if you would've read what I said properly surely you wouldn't be making snobbish sarcastic comments.
My question was if just deleting the periods from the track names would be enough to solve the problem or should I go into my vst folder and rename all of my vst's with out any periods.
To Mistere: I can see what you're saying. It just seems that having clips not delete themselves is a reasonable expectation for any DAW. Also one question to everyone else. Ever since I've used JBridge I have forgotten to make sure the new file names don't include the ".64" Could this also be part of the problem. Should I just rename the track itself in studioone? Or should I go back and change the name on the actual vst folder?
Hey guys, I began just saving in multiple locations using the save as function. Also I found a solution to the problem: Everytime you make a copy of a midi file to another track make sure you hit "merge files" on it and that will turn it into it's own seperate file. I realized all the missing/changed midi clips were all linked to other ones.
And in reply to Mistere: It is fact that it is studio one. I also use Ableton and this has never happened.
The main 3rd party vsts I use include all of Izotopes products, Sylenth 1, massive, fm8, a few TAL and DB vsts, Kontakt, Addictive Keys, nexus 4, and a few effect vsts....
