Presonus dont let Musikmesse be a repeat of NAMM, ie NO Studio One info... we havent gotten real love since october, and while bug fixes are always welcome those are necessary, and no cause for celebration...

Studio One was announced exactly 2 years ago at Musikmesse, i hope we at LEAST get some sort of feature/vision packed announcement

I understand your point but no less than 4 updates to a DAW of this complexity since OCT is pretty good going IMO.

..until you get bitten by one of those bugs! One of those bugs was quite serious for me. I duly celebrated after the fix was released

Yeah...it would be great if v2.0 was announced today but if not then possibly before MESSE ends. Beyond that I would have to assume it is just simply not ready. Steady DAW development really is not quick at all. Propellerheads operate in a similar way. It can be slow going but I think slow is the correct speed. As Reason has a very good record for stability from what I have read and based on my own use of Propellerhead products.

MESSE lasts for 3 or 4 days so lets see. But I defintely want a finished (usual high level of PreSonus polish) product and not rushed which would then mean more of the bug fix releases and defintely a celebration from you this time when the fixes arrive to fix the bugs you surely don't want in a rushed product.

completely agree with your post, but as S1 is a relatively stable DAW (MUCH less problems than with anything else ive used), and the fact that bugs are jumped on with frequent maintanence fixes, theyve become the norm while id love to have a bug free system, lets not go to the extreme of only maintanence with long gaps between updates!

didnt know that there was a schedule for an annoucement, can anyone elaborate?

Rick just said "In the fall..." & "Really cool and humongous..." in the UStream broadcast so we can all relax for the short term.

OK, we did get a taste of new things to come for S1. Mention of a new controller seemed to be a touchy subject. Overall, Nice! Thanks to devs was a little light, so let me say THANKS!!!

Rick, get some sleep.

There was a live cast that just ended. Hardware focused this time around but Studio One related information / announcement will surface later this year "Fall". So something "huge" is on the way.

Well, I guess marketing has learned a valuable lesson in the past not to announce anything, unless there's actually something to announce. Announcing the release of v2 in the summer and then not being able to actually finish it before Fall would be an even bigger marketing nightmare...

Just a perspective thing. We are at 1.6.4 and we ARE NOT just going to jump to 2.0, so this means we are about to get busy with more refinement/usability updates. When you think of it, Fall is not that far away. I'm looking forward to the PATH to a stable v2.0.

WooHoo!

@Motoko, I couldn't find a jealous emoticon, so tell someone "Skip says Hi" (anyone, janitor or whatever, doesn't matter since I can't be there)
