So is Brent right? Is this all pretty much just a lap dance?

The video slip was not intentional, rather a slow response on youtube settings changes. We are almost all set to go with V2, though. The wait (and non-stop work for us) will be over soon!

Thanks Jon, appreciate the feedback.

It appears that there are many people who are prepared to "make it rain"... they're just waiting for the stripper to take off a few more clothing items first.

hmmm just thinking,
melodyne essential retails for $99 and I assume no doubt this integration will raise the pro version price,
but as apparently there will be an option for Artist and Producer versions to buy a melodyne license for S1, I guess it will be logical for Presonus to offer a lower upgrade price for Pro users that already have a melodyne license. So those of us who got it will not have to worry about having an unused melodyne license and dealing with selling it and upgrading to v2 will be cheaper and no brainer

not to nit pick but just my 2c

No problem here (for me anyway). I think most people are just really anxious about it.

What version of Cubase are you using btw? I stopped at 5.5x, are you using 6? It seems pretty cool actually, I demoed for a bit until my demo period expired.

What is it about Cubase (for you personally) that's making you look elsewhere? Thanks.

Hi mike ,I jumped off Cubase at 5.5 I attended the launch of version 6 and really thought it was what version 5.5 should have been . Id been comparing S1 to cubase and found S1 a lot faster ,plugins didn't crash it easily. What impressed about S1 was the ease of use ,it feels like this is what Cubase should have been but somewhere down the line it got distorted . I also spent time with Reaper after a friend recommended it ,some things I really found useful ,such as latency readings for every plug in ,great for finding a pesky plugin that is adding lots of latency ,at present S1 shows the sum total of plugin latency . The search facility for VSTI is good too ,want Absynth ,just type ab and it'll bring up any vsti starting ab .anyway ,roll on release day and lets judge for ourselves what S1 is capable of

A full feature list of V2 , rather than a partial list would be appreciated. (whenever it's ready)

Looking forward to be a S1-Pro V2 user as soon as it is officially released.

Thanks,

Sounds like a good plan to me. It it still doesn't quite cut it for you after that you'll still be able to move on to something else with no real loss.

Thanks man. I hope it all works out for you in a positive fashion either way it goes.

P.S. Samplitude Pro X looks pretty good too so if you're looking you might as well take it for a ride.

Interesting.

But in the end ... I doubt it will happen this way. This would be a great step. In deed it wouldn't be necessary to sell my version of Melodyne Essential.

An additional question would be if this melodyne essential license (that comes with S1) would work in third party DAWS as well anyway?!?

I assume it won't work in other daws, but as far as for owners of a full melodyne license I don't see any problem in what I said before. Even more, having just bought a full melodyne license just a few months ago would give added value in this upgrade rather then feeling disappointed for not waiting
