Maybe you could do another video for instrument plug-ins since it works a little bit differently. You have to drag them from the Instrument Rack to the Browser. Or grab the name at the top of the plug-in window and drag it to the Browser (this will probably also work for effect plug-ins).

Hey Guy's - Here is a 3 part video series I did along with Johnny at the Home Studio Trainer. We both mixed the same song is Studio One Pro 2.5. Johnny used all stock S1 plugins and I used ONLY 3rd party plugins. My 3 videos combined is over 90 min in length. There is a lot of mixing tips and tricks for the beginner / intermediate mix engineer. If you like this sort of thing, please like and leave me a comment and I will produce more of these types of training videos in the future. There are many ways to mix and mine is just one point of view. Hope you enjoy it as it took a loooong time to produce...LOL. I also am launching a brand new website for my mixing and mastering services, so stop by and take a look.

Here's an update to David's post:

Studio One 2 Mixing series with David Vignola - Plugins: 3rd party v.s. Native

(Home Studio Trainer Page link http://www.homestudiotrainer.com/s1mixingseries.htm )

Hi folks. David Vignola and I have teamed up to show the differences and similarities between mixing with DAW native plugins and 3rd party plugins. There have been many questions on which is better and\or if it's even necessary to purchase 3rd party plugins, given the quality of native plugins available in any DAW.

David and I have mixed the same exact song, both using Studio One but he's using 3rd party plugins and I'm using S1 native plugins. Below you will find each of our videos series. David's is a synopsis after the actual mixing was done and mine was a step-by-step as the mixing progressed. You will see both our different styles and methods in our approach to this song. I hope you all enjoy the series!!

Part 6 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d4DxpSgaGkQ
Part 7 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CSn_O5B1rRo

Here's the intro video and my part 1.....

Below you will find the un-mastered mixdowns, right out of Studio One 2. Feel free to comment on which you prefer and why. Did the effects make a difference? Did the mixing style make a difference? Is it apple and Oranges? What ever it is, that's what this series was created for. Not which is better, which is preferred.

It's amazing on how close these mixes are to each other as we took two TOTALLY different approaches! There is a lesson in that for everyone

Keep in mind these were "un-mastered".

nice Job Johnny!

Actually I didn't think they were very close at all. But they were both very interesting, and IMHO actually reflected your different approaches pretty nicely.

They don't to me either. David's mix was a little more ambient and Johnnie's mix had a little more low end balls.

Both sound good though.

Here is an overview of my book along with a video tutorial from the book on how to use the Melodyne Main Tool in Studio One. It's been along time since I posted a new video, but it's time to get back into it!

On behalf of 'maestro2be' from the Virtual Instruments Composers Forum.

Here is the video to show some of my issues.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2PXvUfGmxGA

So here is the video I did to show you how I setup my instrument tracks to a group bus track and then to an audio track, just as I did in Cubase and it's working perfectly after some manual setup. This is also where I show the different location to create a bus, which creates a bus that isn't actually tied to any instrument which is exactly what I needed.

Also, in the video I said there were a couple of options to remove resources but then didn't actually show any Smile. Because I only hide mine in the track list, but I am sure you all know what I meant and you could do many things such as remove the instruments themselves to free up memory, or to use Kontakt or VI PRO to reduce sample count to only what's needed for the song etc.

Workaround........
