What each studio NEEDS to have:

Valhalla reverbs, 2C reverbs, Exponential Audio reverbs!!! They compliment each other perfectly...

I use ValhallaRoom. Love it for filling out a mix and adding space/dimension. There's never really a time when I don't think it works for that.... I normally just throw it on a send, keep the default preset open and either add/subtract the send level. That's it. I admittedly hardly ever feel the need to tweak... it sounds good.

UAD's stock reverb is good for a different flavor of verb.... and i am grabbing UAD EMT 140 b/c it sounds so damn good.... it's a nice compliment.

That's really it. I really don't like the stock S1 reverbs... i don't enjoy tweaking reverb at all. I just want it to sound good from the jump. The only other reverb I got that feeling from was the RV7000 in Reason

IMO, S1 lacks a proper reverb. Roomverb sounds way to "metalic" and artificial. You can't get really high quality long tails without mudding the entire mix. I know, you can filter some bad resonants frequencies, but you would loose all the impact of reverb (I tried myself).

Really hope to see some proper reverb plugin in S1 someday, like Steinberg did to Cubase 7.5 with that new convolution reverb (REVelation reverb)...
Laptop Setup:

Dell Inspiron 15r - MS Windows 8.1 64 bit,
-Intel® Core™ i5-4200U (2.6GHz, 3Mb Cache);
-6 GB de DDR3L D a 1600 MHz;
-1TB, SATA (5400 RPM);
-AMD Radeon® HD 8850M, 2GB GDDR5.

S1 really rocks! It's an honour.

Hey there,

So how do set OpenAir to sound so nice?
Does anyone have a preset to swap in the Exchange?

I've tried a few settings but have not been impressed with it so far - but I'm no physics engineer which may help in understanding the time domain, reflections, damping, etc.

^I always thought Convolution Reverb was only as good as the IR samples you feed it... am I wrong?

If that's correct.... maybe search/buy better IR samples?
