Anyone with any experience with either FireBox or FP10 on a Dell Studio 1555?

Details of the scan:

OS: Microsoft Windows 7 64-bit [6.1.7600]
Number of CPUs: 2
Installed RAM: 4028 MB

Looking for OHCI 1394 Host Controllers...

Being on the Ricoh you're pretty much hosed. DICE very very very rarely plays nice with Ricoh.

Your only option would be an expresscard with one of the recommended chipsets. That doesn't always work either but it is currently your only remaining option. Try to find a TI chipset and avoid Firewire/USB combo cards.

The problem here is that most likely the Ricoh is not only controlling your firewire but also your PCI express bus (where the expresscard plugs in). It may work, it may not. Just a case of Dell trying to make a buck.

Nah, USB should work just fine but may not be able to give you the bitrate or latency that firewire can.
