I am new to my 44VSL. I seem to have everything set right; the sound bars react to mic input, the recording button is red, however when i start the track, nothing is being recorded. It is a mono track, one mic into line 1. Any suggestions?

Assuming you're using Studio One... Sounds like your inputs and outputs are not setup in S1
Check out this video if this is the case and follow along. There are more product setups like this on youtube if you need a complete overview.
